If your nest egg is made of 2-by-4s and you're watching the real estate slowdown with a mixture of fear and nausea, then this article is for you.
The question: If real estate tanks, will stocks follow? Or will the market ignore housing? Or maybe just maybe will a decline in housing trigger a rise in stocks? It's something you really ought to think about if you're trying to figure out where to put your money.

The title of the thread is "Can housing withstand a weak housing market?" ROTFLMAO,
Hey Ex-tex, Travis, GGG, hedge etc. These old housing threads from 2006 are a hoot. Check out the comments back then from the circle jerks. LMAO. We knew these ass clown shills WERE full of crap back then...and still are.
No problem with housing(2006) just move along. Yeah right
Robroy check out this old thread from 2006. You were right on the money.
Holy cow man! How’d you find that?
Google.
Ex. Freeprepublic housing 2006
I have more. Might post them when i have time.
>>Fact: if a person’s income increases, the amount of money banks are willing to lend to them increases.<<
I believe we are now living in a time where that is not true...
Yeah baby! Start a whole thread with the links. Please. A lot of guys like ex-texan need to be cleared.
I remember saying back then that we were at risk of another great depression, or worse. Even I cringed when I typed it, but I know how people just don’t believe the mistakes (and consequences) others experience can happen to us.
It is happening worse than I really believed. I woke up this morning and felt like I’m in germany and it is February 28th, 1933. I just grabbed a paper and the headline story is that some “Communist” apparently burned down the Reichstag.
Yeah, I’m probably being over-dramatic. Again.
Unintentionally ironic post of the day!
Ever hear the one about the economist who predicted 20 of the last 3 recessions?
I did not/don't agree with everything extex wrote but he was more correct about the coming housing problems in 2006 than you two were.
Google is great.
I might post some more threads from 2006 when I have more time.
Bye for now.
>>You are absolutely right, and I’d like to see a whole new wing of federal prisons opened up for fraudulent housing flippers. That does not mean the banks who failed to use any due diligence are entitled to a bail out.<<
Interesting post, in the context of today’s news.
;)
Cleared from what.....claiming the mob is setting bombs off in his front yard? Claiming he's scooping up foreclosures and will be living on the Riviera soon? Claiming Vioxx is responsible for where he is today? Claiming he's a lawyer who.......no, wait, that must've been someone else.
Claiming in 2003 that the California housing bubble burst?
Being true to your tag line I see.
You're right...it's just like the great depression...or worse!!
This is why you were wrong back in 2006 and is why you are still wrong today. Now go get in your soup line and eat now because I heard the TVA will be hiring later this afternoon.
Interesting chart. So, have housing prices really risen that much vs. true inflation, or has inflation been understated drastically since 1997?
>>You’re right...it’s just like the great depression...or worse!! <<
wow :\
Here you go. Read the last paragraph.

I am getting the same feeling from you posts I get on the Sarah Palin threads on the Obama sites.
Never mind.
I shoulda known.
I’ll bet you’re an evolutionist too. ;)
And 2004, and 2005, and 2006, and 2007.....eventually, even the blind squirrel is going to find an acorn.
Why? Are those threads positive about the long term viability of capitalism vs. collectivism? That would be surprising. Why would you even go to an Obama site? Kindred spirits of doom?
Ill bet youre an evolutionist too.
Why? Because I don't believe the worst economy since Hoover is upon us? I suppose your comments make sense to you but they sure don't make any sense to me.
I don’t know where that picture comes from. I’m neither though.
Posting with some people really is like banging your head against the wall though. You’ll get no more “relevant” posts from me though.
It is an utter waste of time.
