-- Marine explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau said Tuesday that while he...had "a lot of respect" for Irwin...Irwin would "interfere with nature, jump on animals, grab them, hold them, and have this very, very spectacular, dramatic way of presenting things...You don't touch nature, you just look at it. And that's why I'm still alive...I don't mess with nature."

Two generations?? Not hardly. For one thing, his father was the inventor of the aqua lung (i.e. SCUBA gear) He, on the other hand, is just a petty Frenchman.)

Please Jean-Michelle. For the love of all creatures in the animal kingdom, look with your eyes & not your hands. Do it for......for......nature.

I know I'm in the minority after reading these posts, but I agree with Cousteau. I hunt and fish so I am definitely not in the PETA camp and I agree with your comment regarding "partaking" of nature. What I don't like about Irwin is that he was not about partaking of nature by observing, studying, using, eating nature, etc., he was about tormenting it for sensational TV. IMHO, I'm sorry for the loss to his family, but he was a jerk. You mess with the bull (for no good reason), your gonna get the horns. . .

Every bit of evidence available, from his TV shows to the mission of his zoo and his animal rescue groups to everything publicly known about his interaction with animals contradicts this. But it seems there always has to be at least one token naysayer for everything.

Did he dive in his khakis? I think he did. Little Bindi in her khakis was sooo cute, and so heart breaking. She's going to be the next star of that family, mark my words.

Yep. The only alternative to most of his croc wrestling in the wild was to shoot the animals. He was moving them to save them from a death sentence.
