As a faithful Muslim, I do not believe the pope should have apologized. I've read what's been described as his inflammatory speech. Actually, he called for dialogue with the Muslim world. To ignore that larger context and to focus on a mere few words of the speech is like reducing the Koran, Islam's holy book, to its most bloodthirsty passages. We Muslims hate it when people do that. The hypocrisy of doing this to the pope stinks to high heaven.

Want to take a bet on how many new death threats she'll receive as a result of this speech? :-/

Dude, muslims cannot dialog - thats why they riot and call for beheadings when you ask to talk to them.

Irshad Manji is a Muslim, a feminist, and a best-selling author who writes about the need for reform in Islam. She is the author of The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslims Call for Reform in Her Faith. It has been published internationally, including in Pakistan, Turkey, India and Lebanon.I'm sure she has quite a list already.

I do not believe the pope should have apologized He didn't apologize for what he said...he apologized that they didn't understand what he said and had their typical Muslim freak-out over it!

"To ignore that larger context and to focus on a mere few words of the speech is like reducing the Koran, Islam's holy book, to its most bloodthirsty passages. We Muslims hate it when people do that." Do they hate it when Muslims do that?
What about when the most bloodthirsty passages are the most central mandates of how Muslims are to fulfill their supposed mission on the earth, according to the Koran?
If they hate the Koran for that, then there hope indeed.

"We Muslims hate it when people do that. The hypocrisy of doing this to the pope stinks to high heaven." Well, you can always leave that bloody cult and join a true religion.

She just signed on as an "honor" killing candidate. All it takes now is one cleric to inflame the situation.

What's the name of her book --
What's Wrong with Islam? She must be used to death threats by now! ;-)
I think I've seen her on Fox (BOR maybe?) talking about her book. She seemed reasonable, intelligent and even good-natured. She should be encouraged!

Actually, she has a few Fatwas against her for her books and speeches. I'd have to do a little searching on her, but I remember hearing about all the threats she gets.
The "Religion of Submission" goons also issued a few against a Lebanese female rock star this summer.

Well, then again. maybe we can send them our Liberal politicians to offer them reforms. Guaranteed that by the time the Libs were finished with the Koran, there would be no mention of any "God"or "his prophet" allowed in a public space!
