Another example of why letting the Democrats ever again controll any portion of the Federal Goverment is insanely risky. The notion that once in they would easily be routed out of power again is nonsense.

Secret plan alleged on campaign financing Sacramento Bee ^ | 9/19/6 | Jim Sanders

Posted on 09/19/2006 9:54:35 AM CDT by SmithL

A California Nurses Association publication indicates the group is pushing the Proposition 89 campaign-finance measure as a Trojan horse to get what it covets most: universal health care, opponents said Monday.

Allan Zaremberg, president of the California Chamber of Commerce, said the strategy basically was spelled out in a document that appeared on the nurses association Web site.

"They have a two-step process here," he said. "One is to eliminate the ability of business to communicate with the voters. The second step is to have government-run health care on the next ballot ... and deny voters the ability to hear the other side."

Proposition 89 would allow public financing of campaigns for state offices, an overhaul touted as a way to discourage undue influence by well-heeled special interests.

The measure, crafted by the CNA, is on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Chuck Idelson, spokesman for both the CNA and the Yes on Proposition 89 campaign, said the nurses group has supported universal health care for many years but that the campaign-finance initiative is not specifically linked to that goal.

Universal health care is a bitterly controversial concept to replace California's system of private health insurance with a state-run system to provide medical care to every resident.

A real man, and a strong leader surrounds himself with strong people. Such as Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, etc.

Eeak people need other weak people around them to bolster their ideas...such as Collins, Hagel, Goober, Chaffee, Sununu and that ilk.

Reminds me of slick willie's coterie. All weak people with no intelligence. And that includes his wife.

What does this prove? That he has a sense of humor, that it was for a good cause? That he can poke fun at himself? That he's secure? This is almost as bad as the democrats ripping GWB for being a cheerleader in High School. Get serious.

David Frum is a hysteric Bush hater who is still pouting over his firing by team Bush. Like Peggy Noon an, his sense of entitlement to a job in the White House did not match up to what he brought to the table. He has been hysterically anti Bush since getting canned. He does not seem to grasp this sort of rabid stupidity reflects on HIS credibility as a commentator. He is in the process of destroying totally his credibility out of pure spite.

Dubya may be a Houston Texans fan...but, we KNOW he is a Texas Rangers fan..not a Houston Astros fan like his father...LOL

I am sure he and his Dad would LOVE an I-45 World Series though.

I do care that he would be a tough Commander-In-Chief who would tirelessly pursue the enemy.

The Presidents main job IS Commander-in-Chief. If the choice was Rudy or McCain for Repub ticket, I'd choose Rudy hands down. McCain is just too mentally disturbed for my tastes.

Good grief. Your protestations of love are a bit much.

People can disagree without others feeling it's a personal affront, no?

I'm almost happy McLame made this miscalculation. It it really riled up the base! He caused a conservative crackdown. I couldn't be happier.

Frist wants to run for President. He knows this is the kiss of death for him. The RINOS bill will not see the light of day.

Rudy is a pragmatist. He does what he needs to get the job done. He fixed a city with a (legal, who knows when you include illegals) population that is larger than 38 of these United States, that was broken by more than 45yrs of liberal rule, all the time fighting a liberal city council and press. He had no problem throwing Arrafat out of a UN function at Lincoln Center. He had no problem throwing an eight figure check back at a Saudi prince. He lowered the welfare roles in NYC by more than 300,000.

Replacing him with a democrat won't change things

David Frum on Fox: "This speech represents the collapse of Bush's Iran policy."

Oh, how utterly Colin Powellesque of him! By making such an absurd remark, David Frum has just lost his journalistic credibility. Adios, Frum...

I remember all that, and thoroughly approve of it. I used to object to his position on some social issues, but that was before 9/11. In '08 I'll be voting for the Republican who I think will be the strongest CINC, and that could be Rudy.

EXACTLY!

And I have never personally affronted deffie in our difference of opinion... and she just did.

My point is that I find friendship more important than my need to save face in public or "prove I am right."

I can handle a difference of opinion- very well...

But deffie has tried to turn this into a personal thing for days now. I called Rudy a RINO and she now instists that I called her one. I even argued to her that she was NOT a RINO and backed that up with reasons WHY I felt she is NOT A RINO... but she kept on accusing me of calling her one... now this?

I have conducted myself as a true friend, and I have always exchanged with her in LOVE, as Christ has commanded me to do. Excuse me for pointing it out and expecting the same in return.

Except he has consistently voted for the President's judicial nominees.

That is Lincoln Chaffee's one and only saving grace, and as much an idiot that he is, that is super important.
