I am surprised that nobody has noticed this poll taken by SurveyUSA on September 14th.
Nelson 53% : Harris 38%
Clearly, Harris is catching up fast. She used to be 30 points behind but in this post-primary poll, the gap has been narrowed to 15%.
Nelson is in his low 50s, he is clearly in danger. For all those Harris nonsayers, I say screw you!! If Harris keeps on campaigning, the victory is within reach!
When RINO Lincoln Chafee won his primary, all the GOP establishement signed a sigh of relief. However, a new poll to be released by Rasmussen shows the following astonishing results:
Whitehouse 51% : Chafee 43%.
Will GOP establishment pour in another $5MM to save this RHINO? Shall we say mission impossible after the conservative voters are pissed off by the blatant interference from Ms. Dole?
Go Harris! Screw you Lincoln Chafee.
There is more of a chance of gaining their votes than those of Blacks.
'She attacked all non-Christians in a newspaper interview.'
She did NOTHING of that sort, I see you are running away from the line she attacked Jews to now saying she attacked non-Christians, which I suppose can happen since you are repeating DU arguments without any thinking and reasoning.
whether you like it or not, She is the OFFICIAL REPUBLICAN NOMINEE for the SENATE, get behind supporting an endorsed Republican and concentrate you energy on defeating lib dem nelson in the election.
Just take a look at his about page: 'Nuf said. If you don't agree with his coco-mania ideas about K.H., he may threaten you with his attorneys!!
He and another of his negative "disciple" did that once to me!!!
>>It is a numerical thing....if the dems get the majority THEY will control committees including the Judaical Nominating Committee, you can say goodbye to conservative judges if they head the committee.<<
Good point !

Interesting ~
Did you pay off your bets from the primary.
Minde Bender is a democrat apprently, since he is not campaigning for the Republican, and betting against her.
So vote For Nelson, he in your party planner.

Having said that, can someone... ANYONE... tell me what's to be gained by constantly bashing her chances and anything that is KH??? Look, she's our nominee, for better or for worse... It DOESN'T help to say we could have done better, she blew her golden opportunity, etc...
We're (supposedly) all conservatives here... I suggest that we either support her, or STHU. She needs all GOPers/Conservatives to rally around her
I'd rather fight the good fight and go down in defeat, over sitting on the sidelines, constantly saying "see, I told you so"...
Or bashing Our candidate as many who call themselves Republicans are doing. She has been my candidate I supported her through the primary which the same dims,
said she could not win, and counted her out.
We will bring it home based on the strength of the republican party in these districts, if we all get behind her and all the Republicans running for office.
The dems want to split the republicans, I for one wont let that happen. The alternative of demorats winning is enough incentive.

>>PS, before you start making KH some Conservative hero, look at her voting record.
The ADA rates Congressmenbers on the liberal/conservative elements of their voting records.
Of all the Republicans in Florida, she had a voting record of being TWICE as liberal as seven members of the Republican Florida delegation, the same as five members. The ONLY Republican member more liberal than KW was Foley, who is all but openly gay and votes that agenda!
In other words, she was twice as liberal as the majority of the Florida Republican delegation!<<
Was this before or after November 2000 ?
To be sure, she billed herself as a Moderate Republcan back in the 1990's - - but since then it she'd have realized that her base is with Conservatives .
It would be neither practical nor desirable for her to vote Conservative on every single issue ~ she has to take a popularist stand on some items .
I have read before that there is no Law or Congressional Act that screams out 'Katherine Harris' ~ but she has sponsored or co-sponsored a lot of legislation .
When she was Florida State Senator, she passed over 100 bills !
The lesson is she is honest and fair and has been a great Congresswoman. Your not honest in your evaluation, for whatever reason.
We are here to support her campaign, not listen to your innuendos'.
KATHERINE HARRIS FOR U.S. Senate 2006!
God Bless America!

I just don't understand the thinking around here. Somebody posted that since Nelson is in the low 50's, he's in trouble?!?! Then each of our incumbent Senator's will be toast on election day because they're all in the 40's!
There is NO CHANCE...I repeat, NO CHANCE of Harris winning. Devote your time and money elsewhere.
>>She has gone from Repiblican hero to Florida Flake.
As stated, I'll cover any bet up to $150,000. <<
Hmmm, really !
I once heard Brit Hume on FOXNEWS describe her as 'quirky'~
Maybe that's why I like her ~ ~ ~
We dont understand yours. We support her and will win. She has done good for our state and will continue too.
She has her base and you negative posts will not change that fact.Harris Sides With Workers and Retirees
Washington, Jul 28 - Representative Katherine Harris (R-FL) today voted for passage of the Pension Protection Act of 2006, legislation aimed at creating safeguards to strengthen and improve pension plans by using commonsense and fundamental reforms.
Men and women who have worked hard their whole lives should not have to face the loss of their retirement security because of outdated laws and regulations, said Harris. This legislation will protect the retirement nest egg of these workers and retirees while preserving the competitiveness of U.S. companies.
In addition, the Pension Protection Act of 2006 will:
Ø Ensure employers properly and adequately fund their worker pension plans;
Ø Protect taxpayers from costly bailouts of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation;
Ø Require companies to provide more information to workers about the status of their pension plans; and
Ø Make commonsense modifications to defined contribution laws to encourage greater personal savings for retirement and other needs.
Harris Defends Traditional Marriage Values
Washington, Jul 18 - U.S. Representative Katherine Harris (R-FL) today voted in favor of the Marriage Protection Amendment (H.J.Res.88), bipartisan legislation which defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman in the U.S. Constitution. However, the measure failed to garner two-thirds of the required majority losing 236 187.
I believe the majority of Americans strongly support the preservation of traditional marriage, said Harris. We must never undermine the uniqueness of an institution that continues to serve as an essential thread in the fabric of our society.
The Marriage Protection Amendment simply states that marriage in the United States consists of the union of male and female. The bill text is drafted to ensure that the democratic process at the state level will decide the

Promoting Opportunity through Security
With her swearing in on January 7, 2003, as U.S. Representative for the 13th District of Florida, Katherine Harris opened the newest chapter in her distinguished career of public service to her native state. With key appointments to the House Financial Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee and the International Relations Committee, Rep. Harris is continuing her work on behalf of Florida with a strong focus on economic and national security issues. The diligence and determination she has shown in Washington is no surprise to the Floridians who elected her Florida state senator, as well as to a term as Floridas 23rd and last elected secretary of state. Rep. Harris helped shepherd Florida toward its future as an international leader in economic and foreign affairs, while serving as steward over its past through advocacy on behalf of the states libraries, historic preservation and the arts.
Acting upon her commitment to expand quality, affordable housing opportunities for low income Americans, Rep. Harris became a member of the Financial Services Committees Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity. One of her first bills was the American Dream Downpayment Act, an innovative plan to help tens of thousands of low-income families and individuals to achieve the American dream of homeownership. Signed into law by President Bush in December 2003, this program will provide a means for Americans to build not only wealth, but also a brighter future for their families.
As a member of the International Relations Committee, Rep. Harris commitment to trade and national security issues is unparalleled. From Colombian narco-terrorism to comprehensive reform of foreign aid funding, Rep. Harris has brought a new vision to foreign relations. The first bill Rep. Harris co-sponsored in Congress demonstrated her concern for the men and women who provide and protect our cherished freedoms. Mindful of representing a district with one of the largest veterans populations, she sought the repeal of a century-old federal law that forces military retirees with service-connected disabilities to forgo a portion of their retirement benefits in order to continue receiving their disability compensation.
Dedicated to serving the veterans in life and death, Rep. Harris unwillingness to take no for an answer led to the construction of a much-needed new national cemetery in the Sarasota region. In recognition of her achievements during her first term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Harris has received the U.S. Chamber of Commerces Spirit of Enterprise award, the Military Order of the World Wars Silver Patrick Henry Medallion for patriotic achievement, and the Jewish & Family Service of Sarasota-Manatee, Inc.s Philanthropy Award. Rep. Harris has also been named to the Southern Economic Development Councils Honor Roll of Legislative Achievement in Economic Development.
During her term in the Florida state senate, Rep. Harris passed over one hundred bills, including an economic development package that helped fuel Floridas dramatic rise from 42nd place to 1st place in the nation as a state to start a new business or grow an existing business; a significant increase in teacher salaries; and stiffened penalties for white collar crime and for crimes committed against the elderly. Cognizant of the tremendous economic benefits trade could bring to Floridians, Rep. Harris laid the strong foundation for Floridas preeminent campaign to win the Permanent Secretariat for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), as well as working toward the unification of the Gulf region through the enhancement of investment, trade and tourism and cultural exchanges.
Rather than taking cover in the aftermath of the 2000 election controversy, Rep. Harris took the lead in the push for comprehensive election reform. In 2001, she testified before the U.S. House Administration Committee and proposed legislation that became the blueprint for Floridas nationally acclaimed Election Reform Act. In 2002, as the reform movement waned in many states, she successfully proposed and achieved passage of historic civil rights legislation in Florida that forcefully addresses the exclusion of persons with disabilities from full and equal participation in the electoral process.
A former IBM marketing executive and vice president of a commercial real estate firm, Rep. Harris earned a Masters Degree from Harvard University with a specialization in international trade and negotiations, and a Bachelors Degree in history from Agnes Scott College. She studied abroad at the University of Madrid and at LAbri outside Geneva, Switzerland. Her commitment to public service has earned Rep. Harris numerous awards, including the Mel Fisher Award for International Trade Advocacy; the Florida Economic Development Council Legislator of the Year Award; the Florida United Business Association Outstanding Legislator Award; the Florida Arts Advocacy Award, the Sarasota Humanitarian of the Year Award and the Sarasota Statesman of the Year Award. Rep. Harris was born in Key West, Florida. She resides in Sarasota with her husband, Anders Ebbeson, and his 21-year-old daughter, Louise.
>>"Conservatives" need to understand that they are a minority and as such cannot dictate everything to a political party. In order to win it is necessary to get voters from groups other than conservatives. When the Left can do that it wins when the Right can do that it wins.
While it is commonplace that we want to encourage the most lunatic of the Left in the Party of Treason because they weaken it somehow people claiming to be conservatives cannot see that the same thing is true of the Right. When the fringe controls the Party loses.<<
You never get all you want - so we Conservatives and Republicans are flexible, we will allow some liberal indulgences !
Many Conservatives like Tammy Bruce, who was once a regional president of NOW here in California and is a self-admitted Lesbian - I have no problem with that .
Actually I kind of like it .
I am an American before I am a Conservative and a Conservative before I am a Republican !
And a Serial Killer allways :-)
