McCain may have it.

McCain doesn't have it.  He has posturing as if he had it down to an art, however.  That man has 9 different positions on everything, depending on what's to his advantage at the time.

Take this Article 3 controversy.  He is specifically rejecting the language he wrote into law last year on treating prisoners as being adequate under article 3 of the Geneva convention.  Talk about being two faced.

Great story, and so descriptive of Timmy's idol-worship of liberals.

The stick we poke with is the great research done here on FR.
It is used by many and acknowledged by few. However, over at http://justoneminute.typepad.com, Clarice Feldman and others do acknowledge the contribution of FR researchers and archivists, and refer others to their work.

Clarice Feldman's article on the PlameGame is up at the Weekly Standard site and will be in print Monday. You can watch the construction of her article, fact by fact, with the help of fellow journalists and regular readers at http://justoneminute.typepad.com.

It is interesting to note the integrity of the process by Clarice, et al., and also the raging threats by one poster who may be a Jason Leopold sock-puppet.

LOL

Now Timmy is trying to connect Allen to racism because he had a confederate flag.

Moonbats can't make the distinction between heritage and true bigotry. Guilt by association is a mandatory plank in liberal culture.

I don't have a problem with his faith. I also find most Mormons to be hard-working, honest, and family oriented.

The problem will be with the media, who keeps pushing the nut-case LDS fringe group with all of the underage "wives" as if this is a legitimate branch of Mormonism. I expect he will get a grilling on several shows about his beliefs. (This will be because he is a Republican. Democrats can worship the Wizzle-bird of Locoland and not one reporter will even ask a mildly interested question.)

Got my work done. New bed with tulips, lavender, and daylilies all planted and mulched. Tranasplanted some other daylilies and planted a couple of bargain hosta. Whew!

I don't know enough about the Massachusetts health care plan to make an intelligent comment. My putting it in the minus column was because so many people on FR seemed so upset about it.

If Romney figured out something to help the working poor with health care, it could be a winning issue. I will have to take a look at what he did. Your point is well-taken.

They shall furthermore be bound by the Convention in relation to the said Power, if the latter accepts and applies the provisions thereof

Although one of the Powers in conflict may not be a party to the present Convention, the Powers who are parties thereto shall remain bound by it in their mutual relations. They shall furthermore be bound by the Convention in relation to the said Power, if the latter accepts and applies the provisions thereof

Inhabitants of a non-occupied territory, who on the approach of the enemy spontaneously take up arms to resist the invading forces, without having had time to form themselves into regular armed units, provided they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war.

Snip******************

3 examples of where the Geneva Convention is willingly ignored by the 4 Senator Stoodges with their fauldent PR spin to lie about why they are so desperate to impose their emotional whimsy on the Administration.

That "a former JAG" is this groestquely ignorant of what Common Article 3 ACTUALLY says indicates it is merely another LIE told by the RINO clown posse to come up with YET another excuse to backstab the Administration. Fire these 4 Stoodges

What I wish ONE time on one of these shows someone would say to one of the 4 Senator Stoodges

Senator.

Why do you want to redefine the Geneva Conventions protections of legal combatants to cover unlawful combatants?

Please define torture as defined by the Geneva Convention?

Please name for me three American foes who have obeyed the Geneva Conventions in their treatment of US Prisoners since we signed the conventions.

Humm, so you base your whole argument on a hypothetical future foe who will magically do what NONE of our previous foes have done and respect the rule of law?

Senator, if our foes respected the rule of law, under want circumstances do you ever image the US would have need to fight them?

Senator, name for me any US foe since the end of WW 1 who obeyed the rule of law in their treatment of US POWS?

This whole exercise was about codifying IN US LAW some strict definitions so the incredibly vague language in the Geneva Convention cannot be twisted by pettifrogning legal minds like the soon to be former Senator from SC can twist to manufacture more reason to try and rebuild the overly legalistic, terribly bureaucratic PC system that so utterly failed in the run up to 09-11-01.

That they would pull this childish grandstanding stunt THIS week of all weeks is positively surreal.

IF this was about principals the 4 Senate stooges could of talked to WH house to work out their concerns. That they did NOT shows this has NOTHING at all to do with principal and EVERYTHING to do with grandstanding for the Cameras.

Just another example of the "My Ego over all Things" mindset of the Old Senators club. What a fool Lindsey is to think he can hook his star to their failed wagon! The old farts in the US Senate simply cannot actually set aside their egos and get something done! Oh no! That would require them to actually stand WITH the President on something. And if they stand WITH President Bush, they alienate the only people who can stand them, the Junk Media elitist. What they do NOT realize is that love ONLY extends to them as long as they are a tool to beat on Conservatives with. The 2nd it is a choice between them and any Democrat, the Junk Media elite will eat this RINO clown posse alive.

So instead we get this pathetically twisted, out right fraudulent rationalization from the 4 Senate Stooges to manufacture some PR campaign paper over their fundamental political cowardice. What they do not realize is they have just destroyed any chance of any higher office ever.
Republicans are not Democrats. The Old Boy's club has drawn all the wrong conclusions from watching Clinton. They think they can do what ever they want and we just have to take it. What they fail to realize is Republicans have no battered party syndrome problem like the Democrats have. They have shown more then once they are perfectly willing and able to tell the party elders to get out of the way.

The Republican bench is so vibrate and vigorous there are plenty of alternatives out here we can pick from in 2008. Contrary to the "conventional wisdom" of the Junk Media there are lots of other choices for Republicans to pick in 2008 All McCain and his posse did this week was write themselves right off the winning team.

Half the people in this country aren't even aware of McPain's past. All they have to do is pick up a DVD of the Manchurian Candidate....

http://static.flickr.com/36/92742187_65f65ac492.jpg

though both Liev Schreiber and Denzel Washington are amazing actors, anyone who wants to see The Manchurian Candidate needs to make sure they get the 1962 version, not the 2004 remake.

I will be happy to do so once I figure out how to get my digital photos onto the internet. I a woefully ignorant in technical things.

My son says I can plug my camera into my computer and do this, but I really don't know how. This will be one of the things I will be working on over the winter.

McCain succeeded in politics largely because of "what he had gone through on behalf of the country". IMO. Now he's running that into the ground in an attempt to be thought a hero and to remind us that we "owe him".

Yes, he went through a lot and yes, he endured torture. Unfortunately for him, when he reminds us of what was done to him, quite a few of us wonder just how badly his mind was damaged from it all.

Also, unlike Captain Queeg, he never saved anybody's relatives from being turned into soap before he fell over the cliff mentally. He was a screw-up who would never have become a pilot without his family legacy and he crashed two planes.

I know that's harsh, but I think it's much more harsh for him to take action against our troops, our president, our country, and to put my kids' lives at stake. I won't even start on the back-stabbing skank Powell.
