IOW, any "official" in Bush's Administration that did NOT serve is not to be respected.
That is a swipe at Cheney
What a low-life, opportunistic, pandering, ASSHOLE!
Just looking for another speech engagement at a funeral....
campaigning at funerals is just ONE of the LOWEST tricks these MORONS have stooped too....
I think the Republicans in Congress...like Boehner and Allen, who have both been asked about this today, is that THEY assume because of the MSM's insistance that Pres. Bush's poll numbers are WAY DOWN, that we the people would rather have them back the possible 2008 POTUS candidate..
And, the "best Sec. of State there ever was"..Colin Powell.
THAT is where they make their mistake...but, in making that mistake, neither of them came out and backed Bush...but, KNOW in their hearts the McCain one is WRONG..
Hence, they come out wishy-washy. NOT GOOD.
The Possum surprised me by supporting the President over McInsane. I usually skip the first half of FNS and just watch the roundtable because I love to see Brit slap Juan around. Sadly, Juan was absent(more on why I think that happened in a moment), but Mara and Nina both filled the 'clueless liberal' role for him.
Mara was MIA for awhile on "Special Report", but since she's back, and spouting the DNC talking points shamelessly, I think she was sent to a RAT/MSM re-education camp to get the latest brainwashing. It must be Juan's turn for the next two or three weeks. Even Mort seems to have veered radically leftward in the last couple of weeks, so you have to wonder if he's been to the camp as well. ;^)
I'll look for the reference on the issue of folks lobbying to block honors.
I remember it was specifically tied to Blair leaving office and that there was a normal Royal honor associated with ex Prime Ministers and that some were trying to force the Monarchy to not issue it. IIRC there was also reference to similar efforts against any further honors for Baroness (I had forgotten that one) Thatcher.
He owes an apology to America and those who sacrifice to serve this nation.
I'm a Texan, and have been wonderfully surprised by W. So much of what he has accomplished is glossed over, even by some FReepers.
Very upstanding of Prime Minister Thatcher to make it over here. I understood she was not well. Was it a stroke and some resultant speech, or walking difficulties?
Brit always makes an effort to educate Juan. Big difference.
Wallace is an unintelligent hack with a reasonably well modulated voice. Hugh Hewitt would be a great replacement.
:-D
It was the strawberries! He scientifically proved that serving them strawberries was torture. Yeah, that's the ticket...
Does that make Kristol the Fred MacMurray of this piece? And just how many people get the reference?
Hmmm I disagree with you on Mort. Only days ago, he was adamantly defending the application of islamic fascism.
Mort is what he was years ago, only more so. I enjoy reading and listening to him. But he makes me appreciate Fred and Charles all the more.
We also have a MIA...and I am ashamed to say that I forget his name, but he went missing shortly after we entered Iraq...and I believe he is from the midwest.
Do you remember his name??
Also...do you remember the truck that was ambushed..and they took some of our troops as prisoners?? They showed them on TV...(which is against Geneva Convention, I believe)...and they showed the dead bodies of the ones they killed.
There was the one black woman troop with hurt legs and others...
I am horrible with names and I apologize...I am just trying to make the point that we KNOW how they treat captured troops, even if they don't kill them they torture them...Jessica Lynch comes to mind.
Posted this the other day and see no reason to change it except for an edit in the number of years at the end.
IMO
Newt has shot his load already. He had the chance for greatness and blew it.
Tancredo, outside of the interior West and border/illegal immigration followers, is unknown.
Allen, unfortunately is best known for his 200 or so apologies for the Macaca statement. If he'd just said,"Yeah, I said it and I meant it! So what?" he'd be in much better shape with pubs, libertarians and indies. Now he is damaged goods.
Romney, has possibilities. His drawback is that he is the Governor of a state both hated and dismissed as beyond hope by the right.
Rice, bright, articulate, but a babe in the woods when it comes to national politics.
McCain is a loose cannon to be avoided at all costs.
Guilliani, more a pragmatist than a liberal. Mayor of a liberal city with a population greater than that of 38 of these United States. Did what he had to do to rebuild a city broken by more than 45 consecutive yrs of liberal rule while constantly fighting a liberal city council
That is very telling
OH WOW!
