Abdullah: Terrorists using U.S. mistakes

AMMAN, Jordan - Jordan's King Abdullah II said Saturday terrorists were exploiting U.S. mistakes since the Sept. 11 attacks five years ago to promote instability in the Middle East, according to a published report.

Abdullah made the remarks in an interview with the pan-Arabic daily al-Hayat published on the day he and his wife, Queen Rania, left for a five-day visit to the United States, where he also is expected to address the U.N. General Assembly.

"The American reaction" to terror attacks had "contributed to the empowerment of terrorist groups," the king said in the interview. He did not elaborate.

In the wake of those attacks, extremists were "trying to drive a wedge between East and West and exploit American errors in the region in the interest of fostering hatred and division," Abdullah said.

The king predicted a "bleak future" for the Mideast if Israeli-Palestinian peace talks do not resume in the coming weeks, urging an immediate return to the negotiating table.

"I am warning that unless we start within the next weeks and months with a comprehensive negotiating process between the Palestinians and Israelis, resulting in the establishment of an independent and geographically contiguous Palestinian state within a specified time, then people of this region will have to live many more difficult years characterized by violence" he said.

The monarch said international attention must return to the root cause of the conflict.

" Israel cannot, and the region cannot enjoy security unless the Palestinians enjoy stability. It is high time to return to the root causes of the conflict and the core issue, which is the Palestinian issue," he said in the interview.

The root cause?

For pete's sake, the Jews gave back Gaza and a host of concessions and they still demand more.

The root cause is the ME's inability to live in the real world.

Israel is not going to disappear. The fifth iman is not coming up from the well. (Rather ironic that their messiah comes up FROM the earth..as we all know in Western literature, so does Satan.) Christianity is not going to convert. And finally, Islam will not take over.

Are these people completely insane? Is there something in the water or the air that causes insanity over there?

So, uhh, Jordan, how much land you givn' up to the Palestinians?

Wow, everyone left awfully quick.

Let's be honest; what he was speaking about was how wimpy are response was by comparison to typical Middle East reactions. Had someone flown a plain into Dubai's hotel, the terrorists' families would have been arrested, imprisoned, beaten, and likely executed.

Anything less than that would have been a 'victory' for terrorism. Had we nuked the black cube, they would have been pissed, but it would have been a reasoned response in their opinion.

It's another claim of victory because they haven't been completely stomped into the ground. Tell me again what the Islamofascists have "won". They are dying like cockroaches and that is not a win here in America.

If you vote a bunch of terrorists into power and put them in charge of making the trains run on time, you'll get all the stability you deserve. Keep that in mind, Abdullah, and you might amount to more than the amiable dunce your dad was.

I thought it was the 12th Iman. One dead Iman is as good as any other dead Iman. They live in a 7th century world and treat people that way. The religion of pieces.

Maybe, like cockroaches, if you don't eliminate every single Islamoroach, you have lost.

"The total of Palestinian refugees residing in Jordan, including the refugees-displaced is 1,574.438 according to UNRWA (March 2000) of which 105.962 are refugees-displaced. Only 18.3% of those refugees live in Camps supervised by UNRWA while the rest of the refugees (81.7%) take up residence in the various cities and towns of the Kingdom."

The Palestinians were given back areas of Israel that had been built up by the Jews for many years. In one area, there were greenhouses in which fruits and vegetables were raised to create income for the Jewish people. If the Palestinians had been SERIOUS about building a stable society for themselves, they would have set to work in those greenhouses providing food for their people.

What did they do? When they finally got control of the area, they DESTROYED the greenhouses because they were built by the Jews. They cut off their own noses to spite their faces. That is what they've always done, and absent some Palestinian a$$-kicking leadership, they will continue to be reviled by their fellow Arabs in the Middle East as the lazy shiftless folks they are proving themselves to be to the rest of the world.

The Arab Nations are very frightened, and worried; for the King Abdullah to be saying such things.

Israel cannot, and the region cannot enjoy security unless the Palestinians enjoy stability.

IOW, never, as long as there are Palestinians. Stable Palestinians? Say, what's the gag?
