Attacks threatened over Pope's words (the Vatican threatened)

AN Iraqi armed group has threatened to carry out attacks against Rome and the Vatican in retaliation for Pope Benedict XVI's remarks on Islam, according to a statement posted on the internet today.

"We swear that we will destroy their cross in the heart of Rome ... and that their Vatican will be hit and wept over by the Pope," said Jaish al-Mujahideen (the Mujahideen's Army) in the statement, whose authenticity could not be confirmed.

The statement lashed out at "Zionised Christians and loathsome crusaders" and was accompanied by six films showing attacks against US military targets in Iraq, which it said were "dedicated to the dog of the crusaders (an apparent reference to the Pope) in retaliation for his remarks".

"We will not rest until your thrones and your crosses have been destroyed on your own territory," said the group, which has claimed many attacks against US and government forces in Iraq.

The Muslims latest complaint:

You'd better not call us violent...or we'll get violent.

>"Attacks threatened over Pope's words (the Vatican threatened) "

Does it have anything to do with the werds of muuuhamhead (Pigs be inseminating her)?

Quran-4:89— Take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah. But if they turn renegades, seize them and kill them wherever ye find them; and take no friends or helpers from their ranks.

Sura 9:5 of the “Koranus,” “Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.”

"Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in God." Sura 9:29

"Strike off their heads then, and strike off from them every finger tip." - Sura 8:12

Don't make them mad! They're already commanded to murder allah mankind! Don't make them mad!

There's nothing worse than having an angry satan worshiper saw your head off.
But on the other hand if the slimes are happy maybe they'll use a sharp knife, and be mercifull!

Don't make them mad!

Your post proves it doesn't matter. The Vatican took a stronger stand than anyone else during the Holocaust. Even the NYT (back when it was sane) said so immediately after WWII. Perhaps he could have said more, but in his judgment it would have made things worse for many people living under the Nazis. In any case, I can't think of anyone else who said anything.

Of course, the Pope individually is not the one who will feel the worst of Muslim rage -- Christians (even non-Catholic Christians) in Muslim countries are being attacked and having their churches burned.

Would you have him be like Salmon Rushdie, who went into hiding when his book inspired a fatwa against him and who nevertheless got out word that bookstores should display his book prominently, leaving minimum-wage clerks to risk the wrath of offended Muslims?

These Islamist actually sound like they speak in authentic 7th Century language...if it wasn't so deadly it would be funny as hexx! My 7th Century response: "Rise up all in defense of that which we know to be good & in defense of our Judeo/Christian civilization. As what went before, it is time for all true Crusaders to unite and prepare the scythe to smit these godless barbarians into deserv'ed non-existence"

What concerns me is that the Vatican seems to be capitulating to these goons.

Is that not the way of the West now?

"Oh, we are so sorry we drew a cartoon of Mo.

"Oh, we apologize for saying some in the name of Islam are freekin' lunatics"

One thing all of this capitulation is doing is causing these Islamic idiots to become even bolder.

After all, the jihadists now know: Threaten the West with violence, they will back down and we will get our way.

"Islam will have signed its death warrant with an attack on the Pope.
I'm no Catholic, but, such an event would strike so close to the essence of Christianity that the Muslims would certainly know what a "Crusade" is, and not mouth the empty word for propagandistic effect."-
I wish that would be the case, but we let slide so many acts of violence, if there was an attack on the Pope I am sure that the react would be much less severe than it needs to be.

We are fighting this war with kid gloves while the enemy strikes us with bear fists-in this type of fight-who draws more blood?

Seems to me the Muslims have just pissed off some 1 billion Catholics.

That figure is roughly correct.

"Islam will have signed its death warrant with an attack on the Pope."

I assure you that many mosques will be burned and the streets will run red with the blood of Muslims across the world if they dare do anything to the pope. The Christian world would explode. Remember Nigeria and the Netherlands. Christians are capable of violence too.

Who will carry out the "crusade"? Certainly no western government. Christians have no ability, or mandate, in themselves to carry out violent attacks that would be a "death warrant."

I want this perverted cult to go away, too, but what temporal means will bring this about?

Can you imagine the retribution should some follower of the Prophet (cursed be his name) should off the Pope? Your average European isn't all that religious, but he or she still takes some things seriously, especially in southern Europe. There wouldn't be a Moslem alive south of the Danube within a couple of years.

I would submit the outpouring for the late Pope as an example. Granted, the current Pope hasn't achieved that level of respect or devotion. However, as a world wide symbol of the Christian religion, an attack on the Pope would be an attack on all Christians, of all stripes. It is one thing to have a church in Boondocks, Bumpkinland firebombed and its minister eviscerated. It is quite another to have the Vatican, or the Pope, attacked, bombed or murdered.

If such an event did not turn 1% of Catholics all over the world into bloodthirsty, avenging warriors, then Catholicism needn't deserve to survive.

ROFLOL! That's funny. I just looked at the ones in the front. Of course as nutty as they are nothing is really surprising. I'm going to see if I can find this "protest" picture at another source.

Who said Christians would need any government to assist them in 'taking out the trash'?

Not a photoshop...
"AN undercover investigation has caught leaders of a radical Islamic group inciting young British Muslims to become terrorists and praising the Tube bombers as “the fantastic four”." link

"Most of the placards appeared on Friday, running through permutations on several themes. They read: "Butcher those who mock Islam", "Slay those who insult Islam", "Behead those who insult Islam", and "Kill those who insult Islam". Some evoked previous al-Qaida suicide bombings: "Europe you will pay, your 9/11 is on the way", or "7/7 is on its way", "Europe you will pay, fantastic 4 are on their way", and "Europe you will pay, Bin Laden is on his way". As well as the rhyming "Europe you'll come crawling, when the Mujahideen come roaring", there were splenetic varieties: "Freedom go to hell", "Liberalism go to hell", and "Freedom of expression go to hell".
