When talk turned to the tactics to be used in the current congressional campaign, Savage portrayed Republicans as those slinging the dirt, with Democrats trying to stay above the fray. He asserted that the national Republican line will be "vote Democrat and die," while Republicans will also use their "huge campaign chest" to go after individual Democrats and "dig up dirt on them."

We are witnessing a truly amazing phenomena. A relatively large segment of society is spiraling downwards into delusional states of mind that far exceed any average form of mental illness. It is some sort of mass hysteria but rather than manifesting in the fast and spontaneous way that a riot does it is a slowly building thing that is encasing itself in ever-increasing layers of rationalities.
