There are new developments in the case of a local Iraq war veteran who's been missing from our area since late last month.
It's a story 9News was first to tell you about.
Using his ATM transactions to track him, Hamilton police tells 9News that Sergeant Garry Jones has been travelling the country from Pennsylvania to Montana.
Surveillance images from those ATMs have confirmed that information.
His family says Jones has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) since returning from Iraq last fall.
From what I've seen around the internet, it doesn't appear that that's the case. He's been seen on ATM surveillance videos.
Pinging you -- I posted this and someone let me know you had a thread about the same topic. Hoping it helps somehow.
Murtha is from Pa.
Thanks for the correction, Tex Mom. The liberal sentiments spill over borders and tend to do so more often in the North East.

I think I'll say a prayer that another Vet will find him and help him through this difficult time. And, that God will give his spirit peace.
I'm not sure about this title. It says "Missing Marine" but the report says he was in the Army and he is wearing an Army uniform.
You know what -- I did not even catch that!!! Good grief!
Of course most of the media calls Marines "soldiers" as well. *rolls eyes*
He's headed for someplace the total opposite of Iraq.
Someplace green, with snow and cool.
And lots of quiet.
Can't blame him.
I remember hearing a Vietnam veteran explain his post-war move to Alaska.
He said it was because it was everything Vietnam was not.
Including NO BUGS.
Well, being a cool-weather-lover myself I can surely understand that.
I just wish he'd get found so he can be helped.
God bless the man.
Thank you Star for the information
Lots going on in this case that has not made the news.
But lets just say we need to keep hitting this hard.
God bless ya all

Thank you so much
This case has me beat. Lots of rumors and leads but-----.

However, Alaska does have mosquitos the size of jumbo jets.
Prayers are being said. Many times over.
FYI
Unconfirmed reports have come to light that Garry has been found alive and physically well in Washington.
Still seems unable to contact family.

Oh I pray that this is true. Thank you for the update!!
