P.S. Rather is working overtime on his new satellite- fed dinky cable show. Editors who have seen first drafts of story treatments say it is WAY over the top, sort of a "Howard Beale on LSD reading Rolling Stone straight to camera, with a Texas accent" concept.LMAO... maybe he'll pull an OJ and start investigating who forged the NG memo's!

Memo to CBS Suits: You need to waste, oops... I meant invest another $50 million in promoting the talented, honest, fair/balanced Katie Couric. That will cripple your budget for promoting democrats, oops... I meant enhance your prestige and stockholder equity.
To: Sacajaweau
When will Katie play the "SEX" card??Whenever she gets terminated. That's my guess.

Could be. When I read the headline here on FR my smile went so wide that my eyes squinted shut and I couldn't read the article.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!!

Didn't she say on her old show, "Thankfully, Saddam escaped to Syria",
IIRC, her exact statement was: "Hopefully, Saddam escaped to Syria..."

Both the frequency and desirability of time of airing have been cut drastically.
What is the frequency... ?

Maybe they could try Rosie O'Donnnell? I'm confident that Rosie will be looking for work soon.

...Another horribly negative comment is now accepted as fact at CBS: Sure, some people are going to watch us/her now, but can you imagine anyone having a choice between us and Charlie Gibson on ABC going with us if/when there is another terrorist attack? ...Should have thought about that before hiring her.

The S word will never be mentioned, until she gets on the $75,000 per gig speaking circuit.
On the air, there will be just one.... little.... tear.

If Katie would shed her liberal bias burden pressing her down for a just a couple of broadcasts, report what is actually happening (and learn how to read from a teleprompter this will get better at this w/ time), her ratings would go up.
One interview with the deputy prime minister of Iraq about the connection between Sadam and Al Qaeda on the the air would probably push her ahead of NBC and ABC. The deputy prime minister of Iraq is quoted by the New York Sun as saying.
"The alliance between the Baathists and jihadists which sustains Al Qaeda in Iraq is not new, contrary to what you may have been told." He went on to say, "I know this at first hand. Some of my friends were murdered by jihadists, by Al Qaeda-affiliated operatives who had been sheltered and assisted by Saddam's regime."

this would go above her capabilities....it would be very hard for her to shed her liberal bias burden, even if it means her career is on the line....cannot see her doing this after watching her makeup run down her face from visably crying live on air when Republicains won the last election....but perhaps....

Here you go Katie.
Connie Chung is finished with it...NOw it's your turn.

but can you imagine anyone having a choice between us and Charlie Gibson on ABC going with us if/when there is another terrorist attack?I doubt Charlie would be the first choice but the point is a good one.
On 9/11/06, MSNBC aired the broadcast of the Today show of that fateful morning. I watched for a bit and thought Matt Liar did a pretty job of running the show while Katie was relegated to quick updates read off of a teleprompter. When she was on her own, the best she could muster were phrases such as "oh my God","this is awful" and amateurish observations and questions of the first few guests after the first plane hit.
I hate to say it but, Matt kept the show relevant and moving.

Give my regards to Broadway!
Remember me to Herald Square!
Tell all the gang at West 57th Street
That I won't soon be there!
Whisper of how I'm yearning
To mingle with the old time throng!
Give my regards to Old Broadway
And say that I WONT be there, 'ere long!
