Poll: Most Americans See Link Between Saddam and Al-Qaeda; Bush Approval At 45%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 9/14/06 | me

A series of new poll put out by Rasmussen show a turn in the fortunes for President Bush and congressional Republicans. By a margin of 43% to 32%, Americans affirm a link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein before 9/11. Forty-one percent believe that America is winning the War on Terror, up a couple points from just a week ago. Yet another poll shows President Bush's job approval rating up to 45% (52% disapprove). This is the highest it has been since December of 2005. All of this comes after a series of speeches by President Bush pleading his case for victory in Iraq.

If the president can keep his 45% rating, the GOP should do very well this fall. If just goes to show that taking a tough line on terror works. Let the Dems go anti-war. They'll be assured a resonding defeat if they do.

Funny how his approval in Iraq depends on the price of gas here at home.

Having Tony Snow as Press Secretary is paying dividends. I just wish Bush could inspire more Americans.

Democrats are now praying (hah) to their environmental god for hurricanes in October.

The more the Dems scream that the GOP shouldn't do something the more you know it's working.

To spell it simple for the Rats and MSM, terrorist + terrorist supporters = trouble. See the connection?

That's why folks thought the economy sucked despite the low unemployment numbers.

Anyone who can't see the connection between Iraq and terrorism is either; blind, stupid, a muslim apologist, or a liberal. If they are liberals, blindness, stupidity and being a muslim apologist comes with the politics.

Yeah, but Rove has set the Hurricane Machine on "mild" and hidden the keys...

"Most Americans" realize that islamofacists are all connected by a desire to murder anyone(Jew, Christian or Muslim) who disagrees with them. So when an idiot pollster or media clown asks this worn out question most people outside the beltway and left coast just shake their heads in amusement.

The GOP is looking good because the Dems are melting down. The real irony is that the GOP might keep the Senate because of wins in Maryland and New Jersey, blue Eastern states.

If the Republicans want to hold their current lead, they better spend a lot of money showing 9-11 scenes until November 7. The public senses the Democrats' spineless cowardice now, but they may forget during the next 55 days unless they are constantly reminded.

Actually, I'm amazed by this poll. With the constant attention of the media how Saddam was not involved in 9/11, completely ignoring that the administration's point was that he was involved with Terrorists, not 9/11, would have been enough to rewrite history again.

More evidence the information age is trumping the MSM.

And why would that be? Because average Americans no longer have to rely on the Alphabet Networks with their liberal bias as their only news source. Thank you Lord for the Internet!

Americans ARE INSPIRED. If an American listens to Bush and is NOT inspired, the fault lies with the listener and what is situated between his or her ears.

You're right. I'd also like to see ads pointing out from the first world trade center bombing in 1993, to the attack on the U.S.S Cole, and 9/11 we did not have the proper tools to combat terrorism. Now, with bureaucratic walls between agencies coming down, with the Patriot Act, the NSA Wiretapping Program, we're safer. And these are all measures that the democratic party is against. What is their alternative? To let the terrorists run free like they did for a decade?p>

Seems that a number of things, not any one, are helping President Bush out:

1. He is out making his case, which appears to be helping. Now, he has done this before with similar results. The problem before is he does this for a few weeks, then settles back. It is obvious that President Bush must continue to make his case, week after week, at least through the elections.

2. Gas prices are down: Like it or not, for the 'common peeples', gas prices are a guage of the economy. Gas prices going down, economy good. Gas prices going up, economy bad.

3. We are now within 2 months of the election. Historically that is when more of the 'peeples' start to pay attention to politics. I believe the more they see and hear, the more they will vote conservative.

4. After authorities aborted the plan for the highjacking of a number of passenger jets, after the 5th anniversary of 9-11, after the Path to 9-11 movie, more and more of the peeples are remembering just who and why we are fighting and agree that the fight is just. Another reason why Bush and Republicans cannot do a full court press for two weeks, then sit back and relax.

5. After 6 years of Democrats screaming that the sky is falling,
after 6 years of Democrats telling us how bad America is,
after 6 years of Democrats calling our military terrorists nazis soviets,
after 6 years of Democrats telling Conservative you are worse than any terrorist,
after 6 years of proven lies by the news media, hollywood and Congressional Democrats, after 6 years of absolute hysteria by Democrats,
after 6 years of Democrats and the media aiding and abetting the terrorists by leaking vital government secrets and after the Democrats pulled off government sponsored censorship of a movie, it seems the peeples may have started to come around.

Just like in sports you find your opponents weak spot and keep hammering them there until they stop you.

Good point because it was clear that the Dems and the media were in full spin control the day after Bush's remarks.
