Carter ultimately agreed to pay a ransom of $8 billion (of which, Iran netted $3 billion),

I didn't know that part

It is amazing that there haven't been more kidnappings and hostage takings...if Jimmah did that...

Oh my goodness....what a find!

Carter paid the ransom? No wonder he was angry that our hostages weren't released on his watch.

Thanks ...I did NOT know that...I wonder if this is big news to a LOT of people.

It's certainly news to me. First time I have heard about it.

Carter was a disaster as President and still is after all these years. Every-time he opens his mouth it hurts the U.S.A. Just wish he would go away. Anywhere!

Had a Dim tell me, right after the failed rescue and before the full story came out, "You know Carter just might get himself reelected". I never wanted to punch a guy so bad as I did at that moment. Even today I still don't know how I kept myself under control. Carter will, without a doubt, be known as the worst President ever. Can't believe that the news media gives him even a second of air time.

Thanks for the ping.

IMO, Jimmy Carter may be a Communist.

I honestly can't remember a president who was such a resounding failure in office. He's either the most STUPID man elected or he's a mortal enemy of the republic. He's about as worthless as a bucket of warm spit.

He was part of slick willie's administration, staying just under the radar. His nomination was pulled when it became clear he could not be confirmed. He was there dwelling in the sewer, harming our country.

Then why is he quitting at this crucial time? His district may go over to the Dems this November.

Well, let's see. He was born in 1924, so he's 82; and he's finishing up his 16th term in Congress. Perhaps he's a bit tired and deserves to retire?

Do you know anything about Ben Johnson? I assume he's a reputable author, but can someone help me out with his credentials?

This is amazing stuff. Ransom to Iran? What an incredible thing to have been kept from us!

Carter's failed foreign presidency hits a new low.....

STARWISE, I think this article about Carter deserves its own thread. It's an incredible find and needs to be known to a wider audience.

What say you??

Fantastic "definition" of "neocon," as seen by the looney left.

Ransom? Did we pay to get our folk back? I thought Reagan threatened the buggers.

Well .. Mrs. "O'Reilly".. I can post the Johnson article, if you all think it merits its own thread. Let me know here if it will be beneficial to post it.

Notable that the two presidents who've brought the most shame, instability and insecurity to this country are the very ones now siding with our enemies and most vocally against anything W, his administration and OUR military are trying to accomplish to protect US, and bring freedom and safety to the world. They have to do that, to point the finger in any other direction than AT THEMSELVES, the filthy traitors!
