"This whole thing is a fiasco for the MSM, the dimorats, and for Fitzy-baby"
It's not a fiasco for them until the whole sordid affair is exposed loudly and widely enough for them all to suffer real consequences. Right now, it's still only been noticed by political junkies like us. All the vicious, dishonest perpetrators of this non-scandal will now try to pretend that it is all ancient history.... "move along, folks, this is old news"..... that will be the attitude of the MSM now, unless they are dragged kicking and screaming into a rigorous examination of how this manufactured scandal aimed at bringing down the Bush administration was merely a concoction of Joe Wilson and his media pals, with plenty of help from Armitage et al.

I can't think of any recourse that Rove, Cheney, President Bush, Scooter Libby...or the people of the USA..have in dealing with at least 5 people, Armitage, Powell, Valerie and Joe Wilson, and Peter Fitzgerald..
That let this shame "case" go on, harming our countrie's leaders and the country for 3 years.

Yes, and I believe President Bush needs to call for a Justice Department investigation of the special prosecutor. This was another falsified attempt to overthrow a President.

I wonder if Armitage and Powell are still part of John McCain's elite team of presidential campaign advisers.

what was Armitage's motive for talking to Novak and bringing up Plame? It was a setup from the outset. The name gets out. Joe Wilson goes into high dudgeon over this attack on the family of someone who dared to tell the truth about the evil Administration. Then the press, e.g., Matt Cooper, husband of Clinton assistant, Mandy Gruenwald, calls Rove, ostensibly to discuss welfare reform and, at the end of the conversation says something about hearing that Wilson's wife works at the CIA. Rove acknowledges he has heard that too. Trap set and sprung.

This is an example of an issue which takes too long to resolve, is of interest only to the media and political junkies.
The average voter doesn't pay enough attention, to remember who was on first three years ago, who is on first now, etc.
We won, but so what?

in the meantime, on another thread, NY Slimes reporters are today attending a seminar on how to cover their tracks so they can't be found by Fitzie types.

And didn't Bush specifically demand that, if the leaker was in his administration, that that person come forward to him and be dealt with? IOW, didn't Bush lay down the gauntlet?

Armitage needs to be fired in a very public way. The President can say that he is keeping his word about holding the individual responsible for the leak.
EXCELLENT!!!

"
It seems now Armitage was a democrat partisan..."
I disagree.
I believe Armitage is now and has always fit the mold of former Military Officers who are unable to orient themselves to their new lack of authority. And as such seek opportunities to interject themselves or their opinions into the chain of command.
IMHO; If anything, he is more of a Libertarian|Contrarian than Democrat.

The majority of the sheeple will never hear anyting other than the story that was pushed by Schumer and the MSM. Now that it has been completely discredited, you will hear very little about it ever again on the MSM. This is why Ann Coulter needs to make this whole saga the subject of her next book. It would make riveting reading and she could sort it all out.

Makes me wonder if Armitage/Powell were promised some plum position in a Kerry administration for their help in setting this up...
Gotta go add more foil to my shopping list. ;-)

Okay, I'll admit I've not kept up with this as well as I should. Could someone please explain to me how Armitage was forced to come out into the light of day?
