Well, yeah. There is that. He didn't blackmail them by accusing them of adultery, or recruit retarded children, though.
Besides, I don't recall much of them actually killing anybody. Didn't they choose the heroic slain for Valhalla? What's wrong with that? They didn't kill them, did they? I'll admit it's been awhile since I last read up on it.

Sometimes they did kill their "chosen".
That said, Odin was quite bloody minded but overall fair (by the standards of the time). Unlike Allah, who seems a disturbed psychopath (also by the standards of the time).
