America Wins! Randy Graf Beats Huffman in AZ Primary
Team America PAC ^ | 09/13/2006

Posted on 09/13/2006 9:02:08 AM PDT by NapkinUser

Thanks to your help, Team America endorsed candidate Randy Graf beat out establishment candidate Steve Huffman in Arizona's 8th congressional district 43% to 37%. Graf is as strong a candidate you can find, while Huffman is an amnesty supporter. Graf won even though the National Republican Congressional Committee pumped in hundreds of thousands of dollars into Huffman's campaign -- something unheard of in an open primary. If that wasn't bad enough, the ads portrayed pro-amnesty Huffman as tough on border security! Arizona voters were not fooled, and selected a candidate who will secure our borders and enforce our laws. We still need your support to help Randy win the general election, so the fight is not over, but this is a huge victory. READ MORE

"The NRCC started it. Graf received the money after the NRCC stuck its nose in the race."

The only thing the democrats did was run ads against Huffman (that's if what Dane is saying is true.) To hear Dane tell it, that's the exact same thing as the democrats running ads for that say: "vote for Randy Graf."

OK, I'll answer. Yes, I think it's fine for him not to denouce the DNC ads, especially after the RNCC stabbed him in the back. Why should he denounce them? If they weren't aimed at him, it's not his fight

Oh so we have it on record that Graf will not denounce the democrats. Why should he, they helped him put him over the top with their indirect cash infusion.

JMO, Graf is a reverse Monica.

American wins? Only if Graf wins in November. Otherwise, the Democrats win and America loses. This will be an interesting race to follow. Please post the polls as they become available.

"Once Graf denounces the DNC ads and tancredo..."

Let me get this straight. According to you, Graf should denounce Tancredo, who supported him with an endorsement and money and at the same time "rebuild bridges," as you wrote in another Randy Graf-related thread, by reaching out to the GOP establishment, the group that smeared him and supported a loser RINO. Are you kidding?

"...Graf polls way behind the Dem."

Care to share that poll with a link or something? The only thing I've seen is the Arizona media saying the winner of the GOP primary, no matter who it was, would be the "immediate favorite" as it's a GOP-leaning district.

Something like $120,000+ wasted on loser RINO Steve Huffman. If I had donated to the NRCC, I'd be asking for a refund now.

The initial spending by the NRCC was $120,000. The MSM has been repeating that figure over and over again since then because the have not done their homework. The NRCC kept spending day after day in support of liberal RINO Huffman and their latest filing shows them over $250,000 in support. Outrageous...

I don't know if Bill O'Reilly will, but Lou Dobbs almost certainly will be covering Randy Graf's win despite the NRCC backstabbing this good conservative.

As does Graf who didn't denounce the $175,000 in help he received from the DNC, when the DNC ran ads against Huffman.

The DNC advertisement, every last one of them, never mentioned Randy Graf. You don't know what you're talking about. Huffman had four opponents, not just one. Check the FEC filings yourself if you can figure out how to do it.

Oh stop Dane, you're beginning to sound like a woman going through PMS. If the RNCC hadn't thrown $120,000 into the fight against him, he might have, but after being stabbed in the back I'm sure he was glad to have the truth out no matter who paid for it.

Dane, what do you think of hispanics overwhelmingly declaring they are against the War on Terror? I wonder what the president thinks about it.

Latinos in the US take Strong Anti-War Stand

Los Angeles, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) The Latino Congreso held in this city from September 6-10 took a strong anti-war stand and was a sequel of the massive mobilizations of Latinos this spring in defense of immigrant rights, said Medea Benjamin of CommonDreams.org.

Cofounder of the human rights group Global Exchange and the peace group CODEPINK, Benjamin said that Mayor Antonio Villarraigos and a numerous Latino Congresspeople greeted the over 1,600 participants, who represented a diversity of labor, student, environmental, health and community development groups.

The convention was organized by some of the largest Latino advocacy groups in the nation, including the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), the William C. Velásquez Institute and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).

Although war in Iraq was not high on the agenda, the first resolution to come up for discussion was an anti-war resolution proposed by Rosalio Muñoz, coordinator of a group called Latinos for Peace and a veteran of the Chicano Moratorium against the war in Vietnam.

The text, says Medea, represented a radical position for a Congress sponsored mainly by organizations that have never taken a public stand on the war, in part because many of their members are military families and they don’t want to appear disrespectful to the soldiers.

Entitled “US Withdrawal from Iraq War”, it condemned the aggressive recruitment of Latino youth into the military, the spending of billions on war instead of much-needed community services, and the post-9/11 racial profiling that has hurt all people of color. It called for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq and a foreign policy focused on diplomacy and peaceful development.

“Polls show that 70% of Latinos oppose this disastrous war,” said Muñoz, “but few Latinos have been speaking out. It’s time for that to change.”

Amendments were proposed from the floor to make the resolution even stronger, like calling on elected Latino officials to take leadership in promoting legislation to bring the troops home.

To the surprise of even Muñoz, not one delegate spoke out against the resolution, and when the voice vote occurred, a lone “nay” was overwhelmed by a sea of emphatic “ayes.”(snip)

The DNC advertisement, every last one of them, never mentioned Randy Graf.

Well of course not Spiify, why would the DNC attack ads mention their tacit candidate Graf.

The DNC ads attacked Graf's major opponent, Huffman.

BTW, Spiffy, where is Graf's denunciation of the pelosi/DNC help for him.

Of course not, hell nancy pelosi/tancredo/bay buchanan put Graf over the top.

Again you demonstrate the depth of your ignorance and your willingness to post garbage info on Free Republic without any basis in truth.

Check the FEC filings. Tell me how much Team America contributed. Go ahead.

You top it. It was Graf who accepted nancy pelosi's money to put him over the top.

Uh Spiffy are you literate? This thread is a congratulatory press release from Team America(tancredo/bay buchanan PAC).

Add in the DNC/pelosi help for Graf(attack ads against Huffman) and you got not so strange bedfellows.

You caught Randy Graf, Dane. Him and Nancy Pelosi are good friends, and she is doing everything in her power to see a Graf win this November.

They're happy he won, like 98% of FReepers are too. Team America PAC endorsed Randy Graf, but didn't give him any money according to the FEC ($5,000 for Merrill Cook, $5,000 for Jim Gilchrist and $1,500 for Robert Vasquez.)
