It was a thing of beauty. The male morning CNN host kept trying to get Tony to respond to the House Majority Leader's statement of yesterday, the one that said Rats were more concerned about protecting Al Qaida than the American people. Tony, rolling his eyes and having none of it, shifted the conversation to the awful things the Rats have been saying and said only moments after the President's 9/11 speech. The CNN guy kept trying to force Tony to "talk about Republicans" and Tony kept explaining to him why that was ridiculous and unfair.
The CNN guy then showed a poll suggesting that 43% of Americans believe Saddam Hussein was linked to 9/11. Tony suggested that this was probably due to the Rats lying about what the President has actually said on this. CNN guy then tried to claim that VP Cheney's statements on MTP last Sunday and Senator Santorum's statements on the Senate floor yesterday actually caused Americans to be confused about the Saddam-9/11 link. Tony hit it out of the park again, saying that both these gentlemen were absolutely correct and that the media and the Rats have been the ones confusing Americans by claiming that "no link to 9/11" means "no link to war on terror."
Tony was terrific!
Plus it's the rats that made a movie depicting President Bush's assassination.
I saw hin on F&F. He looked and sounded great, and like he is having the time of his life!
FUI ping
Woof!
Oh, they understand it. It just doesn't fit their agenda. Make no mistake about their intentions.
I don't watch CNN, as a matter of principle, however I saw him on FNC. TONY ROCKS! Woof! Woof!
need video feed/link!
He mopped his clock, then cleaned up the floor with him!
SMACK! [Snow delivers round-house right to jaw] THUMP! [MSM stooge hits the foor like a sack of spuds]
I love mixed metaphors. THey put a smile on my tummy. ;-)
"Mopped the clock"? That's an image I won't soon forget!
"That CNN anchor that Snow took to school would have argued the exact opposite today had Clinton been in office."
Beautiful. You can frame that statement, then just plug in the applicable alphabet to suit all press issues. NYT, AP, CBS, etc.
Things to do today:
clean clock
mop floor
send congratulatory email to TONYSNOQ
Your 4 year old hasn't been to public school yet.
You can take this as a recommendation not to send him to one of those stuck-on-stupid factories.
Shalom.
Although he has been in and out of journalism (but in communications) since '79, he differs from other WH press secretaries in his educational and work experience background - most importantly, a BA in philosophy (critical/logical thinking) as opposed to being a "professionally trained communicator" like most WH Comm Dir's over the past 25 years. Heck, even before he got into journalism, he taught physics and geography in Kenya, taught in Cincinnati, and worked as an advocate for the mentally ill in NC.
I think that his sparing successes in press briefings w/ Gregory, Thomas and the like come directly from his ability to see illogical and fallacious arguments presented as questions. He is Rumsfeld-esque in his refusal to accept a question as totally true and will challenge the assertions.
To quote Daniel Patrick Moyniham, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts."
Bush surrounds himself with excellence. That is the mark of a great leader.
Although I am loathe to make yet another comparison to Clinton, the contrast is striking. Look at the pack of yoyos Clinton with whom surrounded himself. They were there for one reason: to make Clinton look good.
He's Ann Coulter cross-dressing?
Shalom.
