They are never going to get passengers to sit passively again because they'll know their lives are in danger. That is, unless the plane is full of a bunch of Leftists who believe they can talk their way out of the trouble like poor Theo van Gogh did.

Police Interview Unruly Passenger On Flight To Dulles Last Edited: Tuesday, 12 Sep 2006, 10:28 PM EDT
Created: Tuesday, 12 Sep 2006, 10:28 PM EDT
Developing Story
CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) -- Police are talking to an airline passenger who tried to open the exit door of a plane in flight from Los Angeles to Dulles Airport.
The Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority says United flight 890 landed safely at 8:35 p-m, and airports authority police and F-B-I agents went aboard to interview the passenger. No one was injured.
Airline officials say the passenger became unruly about three-and-a-half hours into the flight and was subdued by other passengers and federal air marshals.
