New Jersey Marine killed in Iraq

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - A Marine from New Jersey has been killed during combat operations in Iraq, the Defense Department said.

Pfc. Vincent M. Frassetto, 21, of Toms River, N.J., was killed in Al Anbar province Thursday, according to a news release.

Frassetto graduated from Toms River High School North in 2003 and joined the Marines a little more than a year later. For his service in Iraq, he received the Global War on Terror service medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, out of Camp Lejeune.

Frassetto played tight end for the Toms River North football team, and on Friday night he was remembered in a moment of silence before the team's season opening game against Toms River South.

Educators remembered him as "a great kid, a great student."

"He was pretty consistent," Frank Roselli, an assistant superintendent for the Toms River Regional School District told the Asbury Park Press. "He was willing to volunteer and do whatever it takes."

Thanks Star. This is in my area and we are friend's of the family. I talked to Vincent's aunt and uncle eariler and got the details of the wake.
