[history]
Notoriously independent-minded Rhode Island Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee confronts stiff opposition Tuesday in his bid for a second term, the latest race with a moderate targeted by his own party's hard-line critics.
While a total of nine states and Washington, D.C., were holding primary elections, Chafee's race is drawing the most attention as another test of the depth of anti-incumbent sentiment and the erosion of the political middle ground.
Update courtesy of RobFromGa in #70:
Here are websites where you can find the results for eight of the nine primaries being held today. The link for Vermont may not be working just yet. I believe it should be up and running by this evening.

What a bummer. Let me guess -- elections board is full of dimocrats.

Haven't seen anything except heavy turnout in Rhode Island (for a primary) and lots of people switching affiliation to vote one way or the other...
And voting problems early this morning in one county in Maryland caused polls to be extended 1 hour to 9pm in that county, so MD will not be reporting till at least 9pm.

Well, I guess it's a good thing I didn't try to vote before I went to work this morning then. But take a look at what I got after I voted (in Montgomery County, MD) tonight...

Is there any way we could move this back up in the Breaking News sidebar?
Thanks in advance.

Where did that come from?
This is a scanned image of a sticker I was handed less than an hour ago when I left my polling place. This is the first time I've gotten a bilingual "I Voted" sticker. I thought it was noteworthy.
Sheesh!

**voter turnout is supposed to be very low today.**
That's good for the GOP.

I'm sorry, I just am so used to every thread getting hijacked by an immigration battle. My apologies.

Like I said above, FoxNews.com chose to run this story from AP -- one can definitely hear the AP bias! Bah!

**Didn't I also read on FR that it was Chafee that stopped the vote for Bolton the other day?**
I believe you are correct there.
