The Clinton Administration marked the anniversary of the OKC Bombing for years. It was a solitary attack by "lone nuts".
The WTC attack was a larger coordinated series of attacks.

"..but JFK was so very American..."No he wasn't. His "image" as created by his supporters and enabled by the MSM, PORTRAYED him as "very American".
"Very American" Americans don't sleep with East German spy chicks while they have the Secret Service guard the door.
"Very American" Presidents don't get there by having their daddy cut a deal with the Chicago mafia.

Andy Rooney became senile about a decade ago.
Sad.

by people I assume he means muslims as I don't see any other peoples trying to kill us. And he's right of course. It is our fault that we choose to be infidels, we could always submit, which, I guess is what rooney is advocating.

Yeah, our behavior. Snort
We're breathing - that's the terrorists problem w/ us!!

It is past time for serious men to storm the broadcast orgs and take over TV news.
These old leftists have been reduced to sarcasm, serious events have completely overtaken them.

If true, then I hereby present Exhibit A, Andy Rooney.
Liberalism is a mental disorder!!!

The Three Mile Island nuclear disaster in 1979 might have wiped out our civilization.I would expect two pregnant teenage mothers at the laundromat to say something like that...OK, and Andy Rooney.

I saw this while waiting for the 9-11 documentary to begin (it was a half-hour late due to tennis).
Andy really should stay clear of politics. It's obvious he knows nothing about it.
He should save his observations for product labels, wedding announcements and other subjects where he can be a cute old curmudgeon. Every time he opens his mouth about anything even remotely political, he just reveals how incredibly ignorant he actually is.

Here's what I don't get.
On September 11th, we were attacked by the Taliban. Even the liberals grudgingly agree, when pressed, that our presence in Afghanistan is justified. But the Taliban didn't attack us because we were interfering with them. We simply weren't. They committed atrocity after atrocity, and we hardly said a word.
If Serbia had attacked us, the Liberal Prime Directive of non-interference might have made some sense. Some contrition and humility might have been in order (as we revoked their sovereignty, levelled their cities, and placed them under military occupation). If it had been Somalians or Iraqi Ba'athists, Rooney might have a shadow of a point. But the only reason we ever gave the Taliban to hate us is...well, nothing, really.
The only lesson to be learned from our pre-9/11 policy is to interfere early and heavily, so as to neutralize potential threats. We didn't do that with the Taliban, and we paid the price.
