Bob Schieffer honestly was doing a damned good job.. sticking with him and working on improving their credibility and working to end their bias would have improved CBS..... instead they went with a bimbo and fluff.

The problem with SeeBS is they think the way to get good ratings is to get a "personality" to read their liberal bias to the public. All they have to do is turn the channel to Fox News to see what to do. Pay their news staff about 10% of what they are paying Couric and put together a panel that represents the left the middle and the right. Fox News with Britt Hume is broken into two segments. The first segment is the reading of the news. The second segment is a panel of left right and middle that analyzes the news and debates it. If CBS would do this they would blow the other MSM News outlets right off the Nielsen charts! But they will not do it.

This exercise with the Perky One....only underlines, the serious disconnect between, the Priests of the MSM, and the real world...living in their "palaces" cavorting nightly, with their camp followers, congratulating each other on the mirage that they have produced that day.

No tellin'. What a waste of money....all I could do when she was picked was groan. Then after thought...if they pick this goon maybe See BS nightly news will end sooner.

I'm listening to this NBC coverage now. Katie sounds like a zombie.

For $75 million over five years she can afford to laugh anyway.

There should have been a performance clause in her contract.

But then, I've never associated CBS with intelligence.

Kukla, Katie, and Ollie!

But I really liked the "White Fang" suggestion in post 75 (Soupy Sales). "Loahh, loh oh ohhh".

Only thing missing then would be the pie in the face: <SPLAT!> "And that's the way it is!"

Why not ask Katie's news producer?

I watched up until Rush Thursday. On a totally serious note, I was quite upset. It was a Bash bush fest - the actual news was ignored to report only on the aspects that they could insult Bush.

It's horrible, not because they insulted Bush, but because we have sunk so low in the country that this passes for a newscast.

On the other hand, a bright spot in that we can get our serious news elsewhere nowadays.

From Mattlet – Scene 5, Act 1

Matt {holding the Nielsen up to the moon}: Alas, poor Couric! I knew her well, Katie, a gal of infinite left, of most excellent bias. She hath bored me on this a thousand times, and now how more bored in my imagination it is! My views rise at it. Here hung those cheeks that I have kiss’d I know not how oft. Where be your spin now, your soft balls, your mewlings, your flashes of leg, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now to mock your own grinning - quite proct-fall’n. Now get you to my Danny’s chamber, and tell him, let him forge a new font, to this favor he must come; make him laugh at that. Prithee, Roker, tell me one thing.

I wathed the replay of the Today Show's 9/11 coverage. One thing I noticed was that Katie, Brokaw and all kept referring to the "righthand tower" instead of the north tower and the lefthand tower, instead of the south tower. This must have been VERY frustrating to viewers who weren't sure which tower was which.

I never watch the evening news...so why would I tune into Katie? The people already watching have their favorite anchor, so there's no need to switch...CBS obviously hope she'd draw new viewers. I can only imagine she will manage to lose those viewers who tuned into Schieffer....the mainstream media is dead....

I wached the replay of the Today Show's 9/11 coverage.

I was struck by both Katie's and Brokaw's flat intonation. They had absolutely no emotion in their voices. It was just like the soft voices of golf tournament announcers saying that Fred Jones was next up to the tee. I realize that they are trained not to freak out ( a la the Converntion Center during Katrina), but to show no affect at all when the first tower came down is astonishing. Are these people so much TV robots that they have no human feelings left?

not even a pretty face.

I'd hit it.

But then the girlfriend would hit me.

So, I'd skip it.
