I hope the DVD has some kick-a$$ extras that detail point by point the facts backing up the UNEDITED version.

I got the impression that even with the cuts , the film is very damming to Clinton and his administration and the Dem's in congress who are still trying to jam it down our throats. It also showed how dangerous an enemy the terrorists are to us Americans.

Also cut were these lines:
"Look! The Emperor! He has no clothes!"
And...
"The sky... so blue!"
And...
"Powerful wet stuff, water."
And...
"Did you know that some things are just wrong, whether we feel they are or not?"
(Good heavens.)

It ends with actor Donnie Wahlberg, portraying the head of the CIA team in Afghanistan, saying: "Are there no men in Washington, or are they all cowards?"Actually, the one who says that is an Afghan with the Northern Alliance, and when he does, Donnie Wahlberg just closes his eyes in frustration and shame.

John Lehman, another Republican commission member, said on the ABC News show that he's told the film is equally harsh on the administrations of President Bush and his father. HOW CAN THIS BE ??? Clinton was in office for 8 YEARS and Bush was in office for 8 MONTHS. "sharing" the blame equally may be politically correct but it sure ain't the truth - clintoon easily deserves most if not ALL the blame.

With 20/20 hindsight, it is clear that both civilian and military intelligence did not know what they did not know about the magnitude or direction of the terrorist threat.
Working from that construct, the Clinton administration acted from a law and order position, which was logical in view of the need to secure US and World public opinion.
The rational approach was to attack terrorist cells wherever they could be found to neutralize their threat and learn of other threats. This was the more effective lifesaving preventative approach.
It also risked the support of World and US public opinion. Bush took the risk to protect the citizens, Clinton did not.

I didn't see the show last night, but the local sports talk show was discussing it extensively this morning, and the consensus was that it was pretty damning of the Clinton administration, even with the edits.

I can't wait to hear Rush today. He watched the original 6 hour version. He will tell us what was cut and how much of an effect it had on the truth factor of the film.

To call Tom Kean a Caspear Milquetoast would do injustice to Casper.

"If people blame Bill Clinton after seeing this, then the miniseries has failed," said Kean, the former Republican New Jersey governor.
If people come away from this article without realizing that Kean is a suckass pansy milquetoast shitbag, then the article has failed.

Blame shame. The real impact of this show is not about allocating blame. Although, I bet Ms. Notsobreitweiser was having a brain hemorrhage if she watched last night. I mean, according to her, its all Bush's fault.
I digress, the real impact of this show was to blow apart the dems arguments that have built steam the last few years. Running under this show were not so subtle messages as to why aggressive interrogation techniques, wire tapping, and data mining are needed; why treating terrorism as a law enforcement problem was an absolute failure; and the fact that terrorism did not start on Bush's watch and certainly not the day we invaded Iraq.
Finally, Clinton's reaction to this show told me that the 9/11 commission was treated by the dems as no more than a way to cover the Clinton administration's arse and attempt to blame Bush for the entire affair.

Is the uncut version downloadable anywhere online?

In the original scene, an actor portraying White House terrorism czar Richard Clarke shares a limousine ride with FBI agent John O'Neill and tells him: "The Republicans are going all-out for impeachment. I just don't see in that climate the president's going to take chances" and give the order to kill bin Laden. But in the film aired Sunday, Clarke says to O'Neill: "The president has assured me this ... won't affect his decision-making." O'Neill replies: "So it's OK if somebody kills bin Laden, as long as he didn't give the order. It's pathetic." Another scene in the critics' cut showed O'Neill asking Clarke on the telephone: "What's Clinton going to do (about bin Laden)?" Clarke replies, "I don't know. The Lewinsky thing is a noose around his neck." This was cut entirely from the film that aired Sunday. I agree with these cuts. And I'm surprised that conservatives would protest this one or that Clintons people would want it cut. I have spent years watching the liberals blame the reason as to why Clinton didnt fight terrorism as hard as he did was because he was "preoccupied" with the congressional investigations (Monica/Paula Jones lawsuit/perjury, etc). It has always been my contention that the investigations had nothing to do with Clintons failure to fight terrorism

LETTER SENT TO ABC:
I am a Disney stockholder..owning about 1,000 shares of Disney stock.
I want to express my DEEP appreciation to Mr Robert Iger for resisting the attempts to intimidate Disney into cancelling "Path to 9-11" or editing it beyond recognition.
It is my understanding that despite vicious pressure,ONLY ABOUT 1 MINUTE WAS EDITED OUT OF THE 5 HOUR MOVIE.
Way to go Mr Iger!
