I didn't hear if anyone was planning for a live thread of the film tonight. Just in case anyone wants to start early. Some in Australia already have seen part 1. Part 1 airs tonight at 8pm Eastern Time on ABC.
And DU'ers would have standing exactly how?
Hi all,
As far as I know, there are no plans to show it in Japan yet, so I'm looking forward to commentary from you guys!!!
The good news about this film it that it flushed out the Clinonista's.
And by doing so, it reminds the American people of the Clinton years...
which cannot be good for democrats.
%%%%%
What an excellent point!
What I've been thinking about, (since you pinged BKO) is will there be a FR in heaven? ;)
I'm steaming.
God Bless her..I miss her to this day..as I know many do.
:-)
Ha! You bet your bippy it is, klondiker. We stupid Republicans are going to be eating it up.
"The Ballad of Mike Moran"
(Christopher Storc and Doug from Upland)
I am Irish and was proud to serve with other firemen,
Who gave their lives for us that day, each one of them a friend,
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
Theyre the bravest men Ive known and Ill miss them every day,
I will keep them in my heart, so theyre never far away,
In remembrance of my brothers, who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,
Youll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
Never thinking of their safety, only saving other lives,
They never made it home to see their daughters, sons, or wives,
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,
Theyre the bravest men Ive known and Ill miss them every day,
I will keep them in my heart, so theyre never far away,
In remembrance of my brothers, who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,
Youll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
Try to take our freedom and youve made a big mistake,
The Spirit of America, youre never going to break,
In remembrance of my brothers who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass
Theyre the bravest men Ive known and Ill miss them every day
I will keep them in my heart, so theyre never far away,
In remembrance of my brothers, who from earthly bonds did pass,
Osama, step right up and kiss my royal Irish ass,
Youll pay the price, but first youll kiss my royal Irish ass
This was written in honor of Battalion Comm. John Moran, who was a FReeper, and those brave souls who lost their lives trying to save others.
Absolutely and BKO is in charge, thus far!
Update: The first part of Path has just finished airing in Britain and reader Jack Bauer says the Berger scene has been excised. From his e-mail:
Well the first half of Path To 9/11 has finished for me.
Yep, they have certainly cut the Berger scene of him hanging up on the okay to take out Bin Laden. But it hardly makes a difference as Berger is clearly played as an ineffectual CYASS MAN.
The opening ten minutes are going to rip your heart out - as you see Atta and his murderous crew getting aboard the planes.
And the shock of seeing the Twin Tower from all angles again hits you in the gut.
I found it absorbing but I guess there will be a lot of channel hopping over the 2 hours forty minutes. And thats without commercials.
You are left in NO DOUBT that these are seriously evil people.
Though we do have to suffer the non-Muslim Judge in the Ramzi Yousef trial, once again pontificating about these people are perverting the true Islam.
How he knows that, is beyond me. Theyre pretty convinced theyre muslims.

they've been saying all day that they cut him hanging up the phone, but the rest is pretty minch the same. so nothing to get too excited about...
It looks like we will be seeing the same version.
so that confirms it - they edited the Berger scene. and what else?
Thank you for mentioning John Moran... I was just thinking of him yesterday.
Somewhere, we have a list of the Freepers lost on 9/11 - and we have lost others in the ongoing war on terror. I imagine someone has compiled a "heavenbound" ping list. :)
I am sure that there are pings in Heaven - however, I wonder if we will be allowed to post..
From editor and publisher earlier today--
The two scenes that received the most attention this week were one involving a near-attack on bin Laden's camp in Afghanistan called off by Clinton aide Sandy Berger, and the other in which Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was fingered for tipping off bin Laden about a missile attack by notifying Pakistan in advance.
The Berger scene, E&P observed via YouTube, remained largely intact -- at least for New Zealand -- but no longer shows him ending the conversation by suddenly cutting the phone call. It does drop some of the on-the-scene shots from Afghanistan that underscored how close we were to bin Laden's camp. (That may be because, according to the 9/11 Commission, this specific episode did not take place.) The scene still cuts directly to Afghan rebel Massood calling Americans "cowards."
The Albright scene has new dialogue, and some old dialogue cut, but still indicts her for telling Pakistan about the attack, as required since cruise missiles had to go over Pakistani territory and might have set off nuclear fears, Albright explains.
Another key scene, in which a composite CIA agent named "Kirk" complains about Clinton's lack of action, is now softened somewhat in the dialogue, but still cuts to the president's famous assertion that he did not have "sexual relations" with Monica Lewinsky. In the new edit, Richard Clarke, the terror expert, now says that Clinton's people had assured him that the president was not distracted from terrorism by the sex scandal.
Well, I suppose they could. Anybody can file suit for anything anymore, but they won't.
How will we know what they cut? The only way I think the viewers/consumers could know part of that would be to compare to the overseas version.
If something was Clintonized from all publicly released versions, it seems it will be lost to us.
