(Greenwich-AP, Sept. 9, 2006 6:05 PM) _ It'll be a battle of big names as high-profile supporters come out over the next several weeks for U-S Senator Joe Lieberman and Democratic Senate candidate Ned Lamont.
Grammy-nominated singer Moby, a frequent campaigner for Democrats and a Darien native, has offered to hold a concert or other help for Lamont to bring out the vote.
They met at a recent Hurricane Katrina fund-raiser. He's said on his Web site that Lamont's party primary defeat of Lieberman was, quote, "awesome."
Meanwhile, Republican New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expected to headline a fund-raiser in Fairfield County for Lieberman's independent campaign.
Bloomberg's spokesman says the mayor will do, quote, "whatever Senator Lieberman wants" because he has "extraordinarily high respect" for the eighteen-year incumbent.
Lamont beat Lieberman by about ten-thousand votes in the August Democratic party primary.
Wow, he's quite the deep thinker. Moby.....what a kookonian
is Moby's last name "The D*ick"?
Darien, huh ? Why is it these uber-wealthy White enclaves produce the biggest f*cking moonbats in creation ?
Yeah, I was wondering the very same thing.
Another "middlist" steps up. Bloomberg, great moderate that he is, is now alarmed that the soul of the Dem'crat party is about to be captured forever by the CRAZY PEOPLE!, and the only viable political option in this country will be various degrees of "Republican" on the left to REAL Republicans on the other end of the balance.
This condition existed once before, back in the days of Teddy Roosevelt, when the "Progressives" broke with the "old-guard" stalwart faction of Republicans, and roared lustily off into pursuit of reforming the US into the Bolshevik model.
As it so happened, the elements of the Progressives were molded back into the Dem'crat party, as their resident CRAZY PEOPLE!, with "agrian reform" on their minds.
Watermelons, every one. Green on the outside, Red on the inside.
Moby? Moby?
Heck, the last time I heard about him he was being dissed by Eminem!
This must be a desparate attempt for relevance on his part.
Maybe he's hoping to be the entertainment for Lamont rallies.
Moby, You 36 year old bald headed fag, blow me
You don't know me, you're too old
Let go, it's over, nobody listens to techno
CT FReepers have GOT to bring Eminem on their boom boxes any time Moby shows up.
(Speaking of trailer park girls, who's Clinton campaigning for?)
I think it's Moby the "Richard" head.
Or Moby the Eve Ensler female anatomy part or feline nick name.
"Watermelons, every one. Green on the outside, Red on the inside."
I like it. It's good. It's true.
Although Darien, DID VOTE FOR BUSH in 2000 and 2004.
BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!
It seems to be a New England & Pacific Coast phenomenon. I don't see a great deal of it in other parts of the country.
I know people say that Moby is a genius, but I agree with Emimem that he is a frickin idiot.
Connecticut ping!
Moby is from Darien???
Please Freepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent Connecticut ping list.
Typical out-of-touch musician thinking he has any business spouting off on his naive political views.
But why is that the musicians who have come out of Darien do everything possible to hide the fact that they grew up in privilege. Paul Rowan, singer for the indie band "Hunting Bigfoot" also went to Darien High School - just like Moby - but your not gonna see him admit it in interviews. Like it would conflict with the image he creates in his songs, but if you appeal to your audience as being honest, than the image ultimately is a fraud.
Yes, I know. Idoit liberals do love their faux "street cred", don't they?
