We were elated when Jane Fonda . . . said at a press conference that she was ashamed of American actions in the war and that she would struggle along with us." (Emphasis added).

"Fox News Channel has just reported that “in his 1985 memoir about the [Vietnam]war, communist Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it weren’t for organizations like Kerry’s Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would have surrendered to the United States.” This is not the first time Vietnamese communist leaders have credited the anti-War movement in the United States with bolstering the formers determination to stay the course."

That's a fact:

Read General Bui Tin's comments, and then read Osama Bin Ladin's interview in a thread of Mia T's:

INTERVIEW Osama bin Laden

(may 1998)

In the first part of this interview which occurred in May 1998, a little over two months before the U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, Osama bin Laden answers questions posed to him by some of his followers at his mountaintop camp in southern Afghanistan. In the latter part of the interview, ABC reporter John Miller is asking the questions.

Describe the situation when your men took down the American forces in Somalia.

After our victory in Afghanistan and the defeat of the oppressors who had killed millions of Muslims, the legend about the invincibility of the superpowers vanished. Our boys no longer viewed America as a superpower. So, when they left Afghanistan, they went to Somalia and prepared themselves carefully for a long war. They had thought that the Americans were like the Russians, so they trained and prepared. They were stunned when they discovered how low was the morale of the American soldier. America had entered with 30,000 soldiers in addition to thousands of soldiers from different countries in the world. As I said, our boys were shocked by the low morale of the American soldier and they realized that the American soldier was just a paper tiger. He was unable to endure the strikes that were dealt to his army, so he fled, and America had to stop all its bragging and all that noise it was making in the press after the Gulf War in which it destroyed the infrastructure and the milk and dairy industry that was vital for the infants and the children and the civilians and blew up dams which were necessary for the crops people grew to feed their families. Proud of this destruction, America assumed the titles of world leader and master of the new world order. After a few blows, it forgot all about those titles and rushed out of Somalia in shame and disgrace, dragging the bodies of its soldiers. America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them. I was in Sudan when this happened. I was very happy to learn of that great defeat that America suffered, so was every Muslim....

The American people, by and large, do not know the name bin Laden, but they soon likely will. Do you have a message for the American people?

I say to them that they have put themselves at the mercy of a disloyal government, and this is most evident in Clinton's administration....

Though it is obvious to point out both Kerry and Murtha's peacenik and anti-American attitude, something has been missed in their character, a far deeper flaw that should be exploited.

They are the stuff that war criminals are made of. They do not have the intestinal fortitude for an honorable fight.

Let me explain. I'll start with Kerry. He went to Vietnam already filled with the most vile imaginings of what war was about. In his mind, firing wildly at "the enemy", then torturing and slaughtering him and everyone else in a brutal and savage manner. No rules to war, just slaughter. These were his expectations, which also explains his contempt and hatred for the military. Vietnam as abattoir. Soldiers and Sailors are just butchers.

A man without discipline, honor, or any code of justice. This is how not only can he gun down an unarmed boy fleeing from him, but how he can make a movie of himself behaving in a heroic manner, afterwords. He knows it is a lie, and yet he panders to the lie. Because he assumes that it is ALL a lie, that everyone is like him in their dishonor.

And how he can say, "We all committed war crimes". Because he truly believes it. Not "I was following orders", but "WE were all following orders." If given written instructions to "take that village", he even imagines "take that village and murder its inhabitants." In his mind, that is what his orders meant.

Murtha, on the other hand, can be given credit for actually slaughtering the enemy. And he should be given full credit for the deaths of dozens of Vietnamese. Here is a man who is responsible for acts of carnage, however necessary, carried out by others following the rules of war. And yet his mindset is similar to Kerry's.

Does he imagine that because of his actions, enemy and their families were rounded up then slowly tortured to death? Did being in Army Intelligence make him so jaded and cynical that he truly believes that war crimes are the norm? And yet, for years he was a Reserve Officer.

And this is the bottom line. He believes that war means turning our military loose to commit heinous acts, and thus "all war is bad"; but AT THE SAME TIME, he accepts within himself the rank and responsibility to ORDER and FACILITATE the commission of such war crimes.

Both men believe in evil, and have embraced evil as an expectation, so feel free to condemn evil they imagine in their fellow man. Evil was a good stepping stone to their political power.

I have tried to keep my cool and draw away from fulminating over John Kerry. Unfortunately my liberal spouse had on CNN. The time was about 1120 am EST.

Wolf Blitzer was interviewing Senator Kerry. Blitzer threw in the qualifier to soften the fact, Kerry appeared to agree with the war on Saddam.

What followed was a sort of litany. Blame Bush and blame Bush again. He spoke about gaining control.

What I DO know is this. The tenacity and evil of terrrorism in Iraq is being laid at GWB's door. Kerry dare not blame the evil that is.

In World War Two, given the regulations of the day, I believe Kerry would have been tried and convicted of high treason.
