ABC's "Path to 9 /11": The Video Democrats DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE (Slooooow to load, worth the wait)
Redstate ^ | 9/9/06 | krempasky

The Democrats threatened ABC/Disney over "The Path to 9/11" - but what's so extraordinary that legislators in the federal government would use their power so...cravenly? Apparently, the truth hurts. (UPDATE: and now Clinton's lawyers have weighed in)

RedState (thanks to the folks at Traditional Values Coalition) is proud to present, the video in dispute. It's broken up into six segments.

OK, I am still waiting for all 6 videos to load, so you may want to bookmark...

VIDEO 1:

"- We're in position, standing by...Ready to load the package, repeat, do we have clearance to load the package?

- Un, standby.

- Our Officers are in place, sir, they are in danger.

- Uh, I understand, but I don't have that authority..."

VIDEO 2:

"- Are there any men left in Washington, or are they all cowards?

{cut to clip of Bubba talking about sex with Monica)"

and much, much more.

The really important question is whether the general viewing public will see an edited version that deletes the important scenes.

Can someone answer me a simple question?

Did the scene where the soldiers surround UBL's house and Berger doesn't give them clearance actually happen?

Citations would help.

"Did the scene where the soldiers surround UBL's house and Berger doesn't give them clearance actually happen?"

>>>>
"It was fall 1998 and the National Security Council (NSC) and the “intelligence community” were tracking the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden, the shadowy mastermind of terrorist attacks on American targets overseas. “They’ve successfully triangulated his location,” yelled a “Sit Room” watch stander. “We’ve got him.”

Beneath the West Wing of the White House, behind a vaulted steel door, the Sit Room staff sprang into action. The watch officer notified National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, “Sir, we’ve located bin Laden. We have a two-hour window to strike.”

[snip]

Berger ambled down the stairwell and entered the Sit Room. He picked up the phone at one of the busy controller consoles and called the president. Amazingly, President Clinton was not available. Berger tried again and again. Bin Laden was within striking distance. The window of opportunity was closing fast. The plan of attack was set and the Tomahawk crews were ready. For about an hour Berger couldn’t get the commander in chief on the line. Though the president was always accompanied by military aides and the Secret Service, he was somehow unavailable.

Berger stalked the Sit Room, anxious and impatient. Finally, the president accepted Berger’s call. There was discussion, there were pauses—and no decision. The president wanted to talk with his secretaries of defense and state. He wanted to study the issue further. Berger was forced to wait. The clock was ticking. The president eventually called back. He was still indecisive. He wanted more discussion. Berger alternated between phone calls and watching the clock.

The NSC watch officer was convinced we had the right target. The intelligence sources were conclusive. The president, however, wanted a guaranteed hit or nothing at all. This time, it was nothing at all. We didn’t pull the trigger. We “studied” the issue until it was too late—the window of opportunity closed. Al-Qaeda’s spiritual and organizational leader slipped through the noose."

Nice cinematography. There's a problem with the simulated "nightvision", but I'll leave it at that.

"...Are these clips ....edited out?..."

Don't know about that. One that WAS probably cut was of the ONE HOUR of TOTAL inactivity members of the dimoCRACKTIC leadership, John Kerry included. Those pieces of amphibian effluent had the nerve to critisize Bush about not doing anything for EIGHT WHOLE MINUTES. President Bushhas done more in the five and a half years to deal with the Islamic threat than clinochio did the entire eight years he was in the Oval Office. Man, how I hate the dimoCRACKS!!!!!

What would you prefer, bongo drums or swatting flies?'

Are you a cinematic critic or simply have too much time to ask rhetorical questions?

State your point, damnit.

Likely it did not happen exactly as that showed.

However...

Michael Scheuer, no friend to Bush (he wrote Imperial Hubris), says Clinton had the opp to take OBL out 10 times and failed to take him out each time:

"As I have told you, the core of the movie is irrefutably true: the Clinton administration had 10 chances to capture of kill bin Laden. Had the 9/11 Commission not whitewashed events, personal culpability would have been assigned and we as a nation could have moved on to fight al-Qaeda. The Commission turned out to be hack-dominated, however, and ignored the documents that were presented to them, as well as the testimony it received under oath. Instead of telling the American people that the intelligence regarding bin Laden, al-Qaeda and their intentions was abundant, precise, and not acted on, the Commissioners blamed 'the structure of the intelligence community' for the failure and then proceeded to wreck the community with a horrendous reform package.

"The solution is really quite simple, I think. Declassify the documents and testimony of the men and women who risked their lives to collect the intelligence that Clinton and his lieutenants failed to act on. Present this information to the American people -- and perhaps put some of those officers on TV to answer questions -- and then let the chips fall where they may. If the critics of the ABC movie are so confident they are right, they would surely welcome this process."
