What Happened During the 9-11 Prayer at Notre Dame Game?
Vanity/Question

Did anyone else notice what just happened at the Notre Dame/Penn State game in South Bend?
As the university pastor attempted to deliver a prayer in rememberance of the 9-11 victims to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the event, it seemed hundreds of people went ape-s%*t, barking, booing, and making a generally obnoxious racket. One thug could even be heard to shout "you suck" as the priest finished up.
This was NOT three or four morons, and they were not quickly silenced. Anyone from S.B. know what the hell this was all about? An anti-war demonstration? I have no idea, but I work in South Bend, and there aren't a lot of potential muslim radicals around. Just a preponderance of Poles. Can't say if it was Irish Fans or Nittany Lions fans, but I can't believe it would be either.
Baffling.

Try this crap at a NASCAR race and watch how fast you'll get your ass kicked. The only motor racing I've ever seen in the US where the anthem was NOT honored was motorcycle speedway (one barrel, no brakes, four laps) and that is the crowd they attract.
Will be at stadium auto cross in a couple of weeks and expect the same there - something about staduims and toilet bowls...
Sprints, Midgets, Stocks, and real motorcycles get a better crowd.

I didn't hear anything. Only thing I can figure is that it was PSU fans booing their team's performance in advance. LOL.
To: norton
addenda: open wheel road courses are a 50-50 proposition, most drivers are not Americans and the fans tend to go all nationalistic every three minutes or so.

I haven't paid attention to the game.
I am now trying to endure the Beltway Boys.

Not sure where you are getting your information on abortion and euthanasia. I know a few CSCs and they clearly do not suppport either and definitely do not openly espouse it. Now the gay agenda is another matter. ND does molly coddle the gay community. Also, the "officials" you refer to who run the university are Holy Cross priests. I just think you are wrong about what they believe.
To: Rome2000
Think twice about what someone else on this site tells you about Notre Dame. Unless they've gone there or have kids there or have parents who went there or have brothers who went there (I fit all of the above), They really don't know what they are talking about. Email me if you'd like.
ND is a lot more Catholic than you think.
To: Burr5
"You suck" came out of that mob and was unmistakable. Yeah but we don't know who the "You suck!" was directed at. Might have been directed at the disruptors.

ND is very Catholic compared to almost any "Catholic" university out there and I think you are dead wrong.
To: irish guard
Did I mention Notre Dame?
I said most Catholic are a waste of money because their values are no different than state schools. I graduated from two "Catholic" universities - Detroit and Dayton. I wouldn't send my dog to University of Detroit. Dayton I would consider.

There once was an expression of exasperation: "Is nothing sacred? That expression still lives.
I know, but the question is no longer rhetorical, and the answer is no longer certain.
To: tet68
Yes, you have a point, PC crap is "sacred" in a sort of profane parody of what once was real.
