Insurgent fighters in a Taliban stronghold are being pounded by NATO forces and are on the verge of collapse, said the commander of Canadian forces in southern Afghanistan on Saturday.

That's what we get by expanding the WOT to Iraq. /sarcasm

Well, this just can't be. The RATS and the MSM keep telling me Afganistan is "out of control".

Henault said so far, only 85 per cent of forces required for the mission have been supplied by the 26 member states.

How many of the 26 member states have contributed combat forces?

"As you can tell, we are answering back with authority,"

I love these kind of statements, understated, yet you know exactly what he means.

advances by Canadian-led international troops from the north of the Taliban stronghold, along with a firm stand to the south, are punishing the insurgents.

The hammer and the anvil.

Every time we cream the talibs in the summer offensives the Libs say "I thought we beat the taliban years ago, we just made them stronger, see?"

Outstanding!

Keep pounding the bastards! We CAN win this U.S.-Jihadist War if WE don't Outsource the fighting to Local Tribesmen/N.Alliance & Area Warlords (read: Tora Bora). Do what Needs to be Done.

Beat them Now, before Winter sets in! (Especially in The Hindu-Kush region.)

"Backed by U.S. and British air power, Canadian and Afghan troops took turns moving through former insurgent outposts in the Panjwaii region, where Taliban are engaging in a "last stand," according to Lt.-Col. Omer Lavoie "

I wonder if the Russians ever thought the tribals were down to their "last stand?"

I wonder why Pakistan cannot or will not eradicate the tribals?

I wonder about the high-tech stuff we heard about in the weeks after 9/11/2001? The devices, which could detect heat in caves, and the aerial photography which could read license numbers? The technology that was to be the difference, between the Russian failures, and what were to be the American successes?

Why did we stop the hard bombing, in the mountains?

This is much bigger news than the media would lead you to understand. The Afghan jerkoffs demonstrate impressive skill and organization as small unit fighters. Killing these scum in large quantities is a tremendous blow to their networks. A lot of terrorist experience and skill is about to be sent to Haji Heaven (aka Hell) to meet their 72-year-old Virginian.

NATO said 20 to 30 Taliban were killed Saturday, but the tally could not be independently confirmed.

Makes you wonder just how much of this could be confirmed.

I don't care much for writers who add this little missive, as if our allies were sure to lie to them.

Then they print as gospel anything uttered from the mouth of terrorists. Just give 'em a tape and they'll air it uncut.
