Geraldo Rivera, on the 9/11/01 Attacks......"It Was a Courageous and Fanatical Act"
FNC/The OReilly Factor
Posted on 09/08/2006 9:00:49 PM PDT by hole_n_one
On tonight's edition of The OReilly Factor on the FNC, Rivera stated that he believed the "kamikaze" style attacks took "courage" to carry out.
OReilly immediately disagreed with the ignorant and disgraceful sentiment spewed by Rivers.

Of course, we must never advocate violence here;), but if O'Reilly had just hauled off and slapped Whorealdo across the face for saying that, I would not be overly "appalled";))

Japanese pilots who attacked US warships were bold. Those that attacked defenseless hospital ships were cowardly scum.

We have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away," he said. "That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly.Bill Maher, 9/17/01

True of combat pilots of both sides. However, I was referring to Kamikazi suicide pilots. WW2 gunners were not nearly so accomodating.

In your view, are the Palestinian women and kids who blow themselves up in malls, buses, etc., bold?

I am not usually in the habit of defending Geraldo but he probably did not mean "courageous" in the tradition sense. He probably meant to say something like "bold". Let's be fair, I don't thnk Geraldo has any love or romatic inclinations for Al Qaeda."
They were dedicated, single minded fanatics who committed an evil act. They did not show courage they showed ruthlessness. Big difference.

I would say. Maybe so. Maybe no. I don't know and it does not matter. What I DO know is that they are the enemy and they are ruthless.

"Geraldo. He also stated he "could no longer support Israel"
I am sure the Israelis are losing sleep over that.

Either pure ignorance,or he is dumb as a box of rocks,or he elevated his Pr factor.I would guess the latter.Over the years,I have witnessed some extremely lapses in judgment, from his live broadcasts of troop movements to the Al Capone'caper.I have come to the conclusion,he is an overpaid, dumbass and I want his job![Whatever that may be!].And I left out the Katrina fiasco on purpose.I did not want to appear to be ganging up on the guy. After all,we need to give him equal time with Shep!Regards.

You have a point, his career reads like an affirmative action reporter, doesn't it?

Everybody in responsible news media has known that Geraldo is nothing but a mountebank and a fraud. I think that FOX scraped the bottom of the barrel when they hired him.

Even worse, when he was among the embedded with our troops he drew a map in the sand giving the position of American forces in relation to the enemy - on television!

Despite the outrage and protests of the military and congressmen, he was retained.

His level of incompetence is as gossip columnist for National Inquirer.

Geraldo would agree: Breaking somebody's nose with a chair on TV took courage.

Killing innocents is cowardly, and killing oneself in the act is insanity. There is nothing courageous about it.

That's not a fair question. When did Whorealdo ever have a brain? It surely didn't serve him during his infamous Al Capone vault "excavation."
