WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Today, the Democratic National Committee delivered a petition signed by close to 200,000 Americans to the ABC offices in Washington urging the network to pull the plug on "The Path to 9/11," the five hour propaganda video it plans to air Sunday and Monday night. The DNC organized the petition drive when it became clear this week that the network was prepared to ignore criticism of its decision to air a right-wing, factually inaccurate mocudrama that dishonors the memory of 9/11 victims in order to serve a cheap, callous political agenda two months before the election.
In an unprecedented response, almost 200,000 Americans signed the petition after DNC Executive Director Tom McMahon sent an email on Wednesday. The petition calls on Walt Disney company president Robert Iger to "honor the trust the public has given you with our public airwaves by keeping this propaganda off the air."
"The fifth anniversary of the horrific attacks of September 11th should be time to honor the memory of the people who died there, the people who lived through it, and everyone still traumatized by the attacks," said DNC Chairman Howard Dean. "Yet Disney and ABC are about to run a propaganda piece 60 days before the election which portrays a far-right view of who is responsible for the 911 attacks.
"Today, more than 200,000 Americans have sent a clear message that the solemn anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is not a time for shameless partisan smears. They protested ABC's intervention in this election and demanded that this right wing propaganda piece be pulled.

This, from the same folks who gave Michael Moore a seat of honor at their 2004 DNC convention.
what cry babies...
Goebbels would be proud of this effort.
They've got a point. I mean, it is kind of mean for ABC to force those 200,000 people to watch the show at gunpoint. Or, y'know, it would be if they were doing that.
They are watching victory in the November elections fading away. Doncha just love it?
In your dreams, libs. This is, sad for you, a FREE society.
So what about the 200,000? 200,000,000 want to see it.
What this means is 200,000 dems took the time out from pulling their hair out and signed a petition. Meanwhile the rest of America will wait for the show to air and then make judgements.
Does this mean that 299,799,999 Americans want ABC to show it?
DNC are voyeurs of politically dark and inexplicable censorship.
I'd love to get a look at those signatures. To see if they're mostly from party apparatchiks.
If only 200,000 have spoken against showing the film, then 299,800,000 have NOT spoken against it. Majority rules.
DNC Uber Alles, the new Taliban
How many of those (like me) signed the petition but changed the default comments to say 'don't give in to the DNC taking away your first amendment rights'?
200,000 people who didn't read the petition which was undoubtedly biased and misleading. 200,000 is nothing in a nation of 300 million by the way. And given the Democrats, you know have of the signatures are from the dead or dopplegangers.
Hmmm... "sixty days before the election". Hearing that phrase a lot lately... I guess there's a list of things we ain't supposed to do for sixty days before an election, and hearing stuff damaging to Clinton's precious "legacy" just made the list.
