Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards said Thursday he's considering another run at the White House and criticized the Bush administration for not providing "natural leadership."
"I'm very seriously thinking about running for president, but haven't made a decision yet," Edwards said during a campaign-style stop at a former textile mill now used to help small businesses.
The Democrat said the Republican administration has failed to lead the world.
"We are the natural leaders on the planet, and today that natural leadership is not there," he said.
Edwards, who has said his vote for the war in Iraq was a mistake, again suggested the removal of 40,000 to 50,000 troops. He has called for the rest of the troops to return home over the course of 12 to 18 months.
"We have to make it clear that we're not there forever," he said.
On illegal immigration, Edwards said he doesn't support blocking the border. Illegal immigrants should pay fines, learn to speak English and be offered paths to citizenship, he said.
Edwards toured the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, which provides office space and assistance to small businesses.
"This is the kind of thing we ought to be doing in a lot of places around the country," he said.

I received a real-live-person poll call yesterday concerning Mr. Edwards. The person asked about his negative or positive ratings on various issues, like national security, healthcare, etc.... Of course, I gave him all negatives.
The more the merrier. This artificial southerner; this shameless, human nothing is always good for a few laughs.
Edwards is such an incompetant A$$! He'll never win the primary either. If Hillary is running she will slap him silly. Should be fun to watch.

My husband always says there is big money to be made from running for president. When someone like Edwards thinks he is a viable candidate, I think my husband may be on to something.
