Bush to Address Nation on 9/11

WASHINGTON — President Bush will address the nation Monday on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The White House requested network time for the speech from the Oval Office. The speech will begin at 9 p.m. EST and could last up to 18 minutes. Bush is expected to reflect on the lessons learned from Sept. 11 and the future of War on Terror. It is not considered a political speech and will not be used to call on Congress to do anything specific. "It will not be a political speech. It will not be calls to action by Congress, but instead reflect a date that's burned into all our experiences," said White House spokesman Tony Snow. He said the speech "will have a note of optimism and at the same time sobriety about what we've been through." The president will travel Sunday to New York's Ground Zero. On Monday, he will visit the Pentagon and the rural Pennsylvania field where United Flight 93 passengers forced hijackers to crash to avoid further loss of life.

With this ABC movie and then the Bush speech, I think we'll likely see polls turning dramatically in a couple of weeks. All of this and Congress' focus on national security should jolt voters just enough to give the GOP the edge. I wish president Bush would do more of this and I think he should consider addressing a join-session of congress to talk about the war.

They won't show the speech, IMHO. And there will be the democrat response given more coverage than the President's speech. We are all being led to the slaughter of leftist incompetence.

Story is that the ABC program is going to be severely edited to get rid of anything that might mention Clinton's failures with regard to Bin Laden. So no matter what the President does, the message will be that 9/11 was Bush's fault.

HAH! How much do you wanna bet that one minute after the speech ends, media talking heads and other Democrats will be saying the Bush speech is political and was timed to remind American voters of the 9/11 attacks just weeks before the November elections?

Who will not show the President speech? ABC? So what if they do not show it. What will be the democrats response to the President speech? 9/11 is Bush fault?! The American people have been hearing this lie from liberals and their media since 9/11 but not enough voters believed it to give the democrats the power in the White House or Congress. Look at those morons in the democrat party running frantically scared because of a movie. A party that is so afraid of a movie cannot win.

Why they have not been winning for so long?

Will this pre-empt the 9/11 movie on ABC?
If so, DU and kos will say he's speaking because night #2 supposedly paints the Bush administration in a bad light. [We just KNOW they will!]

Dems want Bin Laden to have equal time to respond to Pres. Bushs speech. Since he only spouts democrat talking points, it would only be fair.

I think, MOnday night, I'll watch the President's speech in while the ABC docu is going on. I smell something funky going on at ABC.

The writer of Path was on the Sean Hannity radio show this afternoon. He said it was definitely being edited at the request of Democrats, but he wasn't sure how much.

He's one of the writers, perhaps of Sunday night's part of the show? Thanks for this info.
