9/11 Hijackers Wanted To Avenge… Bosnia!
Sweetness & Light ^ | September 8, 2006 | N/A

By now you have probably heard of how Al Qaeda is celebrating the fifth anniversary of 9/11 by releasing previously unaired video of Bin Laden's meeting and preparations with some of the hijackers.

Here Aljazeera, which has aired some of the footage, provides some more information about the video's contents -- including some surprising details which our one party media will surely ignore:

Al-Qaeda video takes credit for 9/11

Friday 08 September 2006

A new videotape aired on Aljazeera television has shown Osama bin Laden and senior al-Qaeda members meeting some of the men who carried out the September 11 attacks against the US in 2001. The 90-minute video apparently shows bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda, taking part in the planning and preparation of the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people...

The footage, first aired on Thursday, also shows Abu Hafsa al-Masri, al-Qaeda's then military leader, and Ramzi bin al-Shaiba, co-ordinator of the 9/11 attacks, meeting in al-Qaeda's training camps in Taliban controlled Afghanistan. The tape also says that a previous unknown Arab Islamist, Abu al-Turab al-Urduni, supervised the training for the attacks.

The video said the preparation for the attacks included not only flight training but also lessons in street-fighting and how to forge official documents.

The video also showed two of the 19 Islamists who took part in the attacks, Saudi nationals Hamza al-Ramdi and Wael el-Shemari. The men said that their actions were inspired by an urge to avenge the suffering of Muslims in Bosnia and Chechnya.

Ramzi bin al-Shaiba was captured by the US in 2002. He is now reportedly being held in Guantanamo Bay. Aljazeera has aired only three minutes of the tape.

Afghanistan training camp Parts of the tape show bin Laden - wearing a dark robe and white head gear - strolling through an Afghan training camp, greeting dozens of followers, some masked, some barefaced, many carrying automatic weapons. Aljazeera said that among those he greeted in the footage were several of the 9/11 hijackers but their faces were not clear, and it was not immediately known which ones were shown.

In one scene, bin Laden addresses the camera, calling on Muslims to support the hijackers. "I ask you to pray for them and to ask God to make them successful, aim their shots well, set their feet strong and strengthen their hearts," bin Laden said.

The comments were apparently filmed before the attacks but never before released. The footage also shows scenes of training at the camp.

That's right.

The hijackers claimed they were going to fly airplanes into important buildings in New York and DC to "avenge the suffering of Muslims in Bosnia and Chechnya."

Never mind that the United States helped fight a war to try to protect the Muslim population in Bosnia. (In fact, we still have troops stationed there as peacekeepers.)

And never mind that Chechnya is the bailiwick of the Soviet Union Russia and a matter we have no control over whatsoever.

Apparently the hijackers made no mention of any of the motives usually attributed to them. Such as their anger at the US presence in Saudi Arabia, or our support for Israel, or even their general hatred of Western decadence.

But of course we will never hear anything again about the 9/11 terrorists' actual motives. Not from the guardians of truth in our one party media.

They won't allow any rewrites of their version of 9/11.

1996-December 2000: Thirteen of the hijackers disappeared for significant periods of time before the end of 2000:

1) Nawaf Alhazmi: The CIA says he was in the Bosnia conflict in the mid-1990s [CIA Director Tenet Testimony, 6/18/02] He fought in Chechnya in 1996 [Observer, 9/23/01] and/or 1998. [Arab News, 9/20/01, ABC News, 1/9/02] He also visited Afghanistan before 1998 and swore loyalty to bin Laden. [CIA Director Tenet Testimony, 6/18/02]

2) Khalid Almihdhar: The CIA says he was in the Bosnia conflict in the mid-1990s [CIA Director Tenet Testimony, 6/18/02] His family claims he left to fight in Chechnya in 1997. [Los Angeles Times, 9/1/02]

3) Salem Alhazmi: spent time in Chechnya with his brother Nawaf Alhazmi. [ABC News, 1/9/02]

4) Ahmed Alhaznawi: left for Chechnya in 1999 [ABC News, 1/9/02], lost family contact in late 2000. [Arab News, 9/22/01]

5) Hamza Alghamdi: left for Chechnya in early 2000. [Independent, 9/27/01, [Washington Post, 9/25/01] Another report says he went there around January 2001. He called home several times until about June 2001, saying he was in Chechnya. [Arab News, 9/18/01]

6) Mohand Alshehri: went to fight in Chechnya in early 2000. [Arab News, 9/22/01]

7) Ahmed Alnami: left home in June 2000, called home once in June 2001 from an unnamed location. [Arab News, 9/19/01, Washington Post, 9/25/01]

8) Fayez Ahmed Banihammad: left home in July 2000 saying he wanted to participate in a holy war or do relief work. [St. Petersburg Times, 9/27/01, Washington Post, 9/25/01] He called his parents one time since. [Arab News, 9/18/01]

9) Ahmed Alghamdi: left his studies to fight in Chechnya in 2000, last seen by his family in December 2000. He last called his parents in July 2001 but didn't mention being in the US. [Arab News, 9/18/01, Arab News, 9/20/01]

10) Waleed Alshehri: disappeared with Wail Alshehri in December 2000, spoke of fighting in Chechnya. [Washington Post, 9/25/01, Arab News, 9/18/01]

11) Wail Alshehri: had psychological problems, went with his brother to Mecca to seek help and both disappeared, spoke of fighting in Chechnya. [Washington Post, 9/25/01]

12) Majed Moqed: last seen by a friend in 2000 in Saudi Arabia, who said, "he had a plan to visit the United States to learn English." [Arab News, 9/22/01]

Clearly there is a pattern: 11 appear likely to have fought in Chechnya, and two others are known to have gone missing. It's possible that others have similar histories, but it's hard to tell because "almost nothing [is] known about some." [New York Times, 9/21/01]

*****Furthermore, a colleague claims hijackers Atta, Marwan Alshehhi, Ziad Jarrah and would-be hijacker Ramzi bin al-Shibh wanted to fight in Chechnya but were told in early 2000 that they were needed elsewhere.**** [Washington Post, 10/23/02, Reuters, 10/29/02]

150 to 1 kill ratio is not a bad day in any war.

But there were bad visuals on the 6:00 news, so we had to leave.

The fact that Somalia became a bloodbath and is now a terrorist sanctuary mattered not a bit to Bill Clinton. In fact, the Democrats want to repeat the same mistake today on a much grander scale in Iraq.

Stupidly ignorant .. shows ya that we really are dealing with electronically enhanced Neanderthals.

Not stupid or ignorant at all. Just evil.

They have wanted us all dead, enslaved or converted for the last 1300 years. In Bosnia we just demonstrated that we had no clue about Islam and were not willing to take even minimal casualties in order to carry out policy.

Our adventure in Bosnia was an invitation. The rest is just excuses.

Seems al Quaeda is upset that we didn't support -- not just Bosnian Muslims -- but al Qaeda itself in Bosnia!

"Seems al Quaeda is upset that we didn't support -- not just Bosnian Muslims -- but al Qaeda itself in Bosnia!"

Sheesh.

Though, I have to say, in retrospect it isn't any too surprising.

And as some have already pointed out on this thread, boy were we naive about Muslims just a few short years ago.
