Can you believe it? NBC led off their football season with a kickoff tune sung by the Dixie Chicks! Talk about rubbing our noses in it......

Bias....The only thing she forgot was to wear her

"Paid for by the Democratic Party" T-shirt.

"Tonight, perky Katie apparently believes a 5 or 6 year old video tape of Useless never-bin-Laiden is a triumph of terror over Bush's liberation of 50 million Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq."

Muslims won't be "liberated" until they liberate themselves from Islam, the 'religion' that turns them into Satanic, barbaric, neanderthals. If I honestly thought for one minute that our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan was one of "liberation", I think I'd become a Democrat and fight against our war policies because I don't care about 'liberating' these 8th century thugs just so they can become an Islamo-theocratic-fake-democracy, like Iran.

I personally believe that our goal in both Iraq and Afghanistan is to kill as many of the enemy as possible, stack their formerly breathing bodies up to the skies and keep the fighting away from our own soil. I know this is what Bush is trying to accomplish, I just wish he'd come out and say so, and stop throwing rosey soliliques at Islam by calling it "a great religion and "a religion of peace". It's a religion of oppression, brutality, bloodshed and death. And as Pope Benedict XVI has recently said, "Islam and democracy are incompatable--- and until Islam redefines its intrepretation of the koran Islam will remain incompatable with democracy", (paraphrase).

Next show, Katie and Baghdad Bob, singing a duet.....

What ever happened to that guy? He was hilarious...somebody should've given him a late-night show or something...hell, put him on a news channel, since he was allegedly reporting "news" from Baghdad.

This evening I watched CBS because Rushbo was scheduled late in the broadcast ... I agree the opening segment and the one immediately thereafter were Bush and the war in Iraq/Afghanistan bashing in the extreme. Although I thought Rush was great ... and in fairness to CBS I'm appreciative that they gave him air time ... they haven't made me a Katie Couric evening news viewer, ever.

I watched just a little past RL.

If the dawn were breaking, the show could pass as "Today" or GMA. More old news and opinion offered in lieu of news. Three month old, in depth vaccine story and a lot of day old stuff.

I think Liz Vargas was doing a great job in comparison.

Yikes!

Why is everyone still referring to her as "Perky Katie Couric"? Without the benefit of Photoshop, she's looking tired and thick...far from perky.

While I wait for Rush's piece, I'm horrified by her botoxed deathmask forehead's lifeless appearance...creepy.

I don't remember when I stopped watching the Today Show, but it was before the Couric era (I couldn't take Bryant Gumble)

I've only watched their show when Ann Coulter is on...though, sadly, I never saw Colter and Couric together.

Ol' Baghdad Bob was almost human. He fled Iraq one step (!) ahead of the good guys, and later turned up in Cairo, where it was said that he preferred to be there just to enjoy the beautiful women of Egypt.

Now how do you hate someone like that?

;^)

Only way I could watch the news is if Mel Gibson was drunk and the anchor.

You have a stronger colon that do I; I can't watch her at all and as a still active Democrat I still don't think she makes us look as bad as Pelosi/Kerry/Reid/Schmucky.

Last night's show wasn't half bad- Couric was much fairer to President Bush and treated him with more respect than Brian Williams ever has.
Even the correspondents didn't seem that unbalanced.
So, I thought I would give CBS another chance-especially since Rush was going to be on.
Last night's show was obviously an aberration.
Tonight was NBCworthy - nonstop Bush bashing-thought the KOS kids must have produced it.
Told my wife I was going to mute that beyotch until Rush's segment -which we did and he was great. After Rush-click.

Must've been one step...the tanks were practically visible in the background as he claimed the "imperialist invaders" were being pushed into the sea or some nonsense!

That said, the Egyptian women are fine (my sister-in-law is one...with lots of attractive relatives!), though I prefer Lebanese women, myself!

I wonder who this Van Cliburn guy is? I suspect he's a dem contributor.

Isn't there a classical pianist named Van Cliburn?
