CAIRO, Egypt Al-Jazeera aired on Thursday what it called previously unshown footage of Al Qaeda terrorist chief Usama bin Laden meeting with some of the Sept. 11 hijackers.
The station did not say how it obtained the video, which was produced by As-Sahab, Al Qaeda's media branch.
The video showed bin Laden sitting with his former lieutenant Mohammed Atef and Ramzi Binalshibh, another suspected planner of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Bin Laden is seen wearing a dark robe and white head gear, walking in a mountainous area, smiling and hugging men the tape claimed were several of the Sept. 11 hijackers.
Atef, also known as Abu Hafs al-Masri, was killed by a U.S. airstrike in Afghanistan in 2001. Binalshibh was captured four years ago in Pakistan and is in U.S. custody. President Bush announced Wednesday the administration's plan to put him and other captured terrorist suspects on trial.
Senior U.S. intelligence officials said they are not surprised to see Al Qaeda release a video like this just days before the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks

Thanks for the info. I will try to remember to be a bit more dilligent in searching. So many times I search and get a hit on the headline so cannot post threads I guess I get hasty when I finally find something to post.
BUMP!
Oh those poor DUmmies!
Don't let these people discourage you from posting an article Johnnie, especially when you do it by the rules.
Some people around here want every story about the same subject on the exact same thread. Those are the "Live Thread" people who sit on long, long threads waiting for a new detail of the story to drip out.
But most of us will not search through a 1500 post thread that is 12-24 hours old to find the "NEW UPDATE" buried someplace around post #1134.
The rules state that you should post the exact title so that it makes it easier to search. And if the moderators have a problem with your post, THEY will take action.
But if some critic comes along and chides you for not posting it on the "main thread," tell HIM to post it on the main thread.
How about 112 posts and 2 hours 1 minute as was the case this time?
Guess I'm not the only who's sometimes a grump butt.
How about letting a person correctly post by the rules without nagging him?
If you are going to be a self-appointed "Already Posted" person, at least get your facts straight.
The story WAS NOT already posted.
And the rules do not state that every new update has to be posted on the same thread.
If al gore was president right now:
"Now that we finally have video proof, I've instructed the attorney general to draw up charges against Al Qaeda."
"I welcome Uday Hussein as the leader of Iraq, now that Saddam has passed away"
Which is why I used the wording "traditional" rather than rule.
It seems MNjohnnie and I didn't have a problem discussing it.
I'll have to dust off my "Dynamite 8" for that one!!!
The moderators have always said that they follow a "four hour guuideline" for reposting the exact same article.
They have they don't criticize people like Johnnie for posting a similiar article from another source.
This poster did us a favor by posting a new article with new information. If you wish to add his new information to an existing thread, feel free to do it.
But why criticize him for following the rules? The moderators obviously did not care and over 700 people read the article that you did not want posted.
