A terrified 3-year-old girl was left stranded in the lobby of a Chinatown building after her mother angrily told her, "Go away! I don't want you anymore!" police and witnesses said yesterday. Little Angelina Chen was seen running after her mother, weeping and desperately calling, "Mommy! Mommy!" as her mother walked off, witnesses told The Post.
Police arrested the woman, Jin Lin, 32, of Queens, hours after witnesses said she left the child in an office building near the corner of Market and Division streets. She was charged with abandonment of a child and endangering the welfare of child.
But the Manhattan District Attorney's Office later dropped the charges, claiming there was not enough substantial evidence to prosecute the case.
Law-enforcement sources blamed the confusion and the child's trauma on a bitter divorce and custody dispute highlighted by angry shouting matches between her parents minutes before she was left alone.
The sources said the girl is in the custody of the city's Administration for Children's Services, while investigators struggle to sort out the mess to determine if the child is being used as a pawn in an ugly war.
Cops initially said the child had been left to fend for herself shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with nothing more than a few new toys and a "Hello Kitty" schoolbag.
A storeowner said the mother had been walking along the street with the girl and an unidentified man and was engaged in what appeared to be a heated conversation.
"They were arguing very loud," said the store owner, Eric Lin. "Then the man left. Then the little girl started running after her mother, crying, 'Mommy! Mommy!' "The girl just kept crying," Lin said. "It's pretty sad. The girl's only 3 years old. I'm sure she didn't understand what happened."

Lord love this little one! Hope she finds a good loving home if this can't be reconciled. Sounds like the mother has mental problems....
OMG! The poor child!
God bless this innocent little child and help her overcome some serious barriers.
What a little princess.
Heartbreaker Ping.
Can I have her?
Cute little girl. Too bad she has a heartless bitch for a mother. She will have abandonment issues forever.
These stories always break my heart. My youngest isn't much older than this little girl. They are so trusting and loving at this age (albiet with a few tantrums thrown in) that acting so cruelly to them is just terrible.
heartbreaking to think of a little girl having to chase her mommy down the street
BUMP!
"Can I have her?"
I want this little darling too!!!
This is why God hates divorce.
I'd happily adopt her...
I'll take the poor girl. We have lots of love.
God have mercy on us all. Blow the trumpet, and let's get rid of all this stuff. This was evil. Plain and simple.
Something like this happened to my great-grandfather. His father died, and his mother remarried. Both parties had kids and the new husband told her that they would only keep one child each. So my great-grandfather got left on the side of the road.
No wonder he wasn't a nice person.
As for this little girl, she can come live at our house anytime.
God Almighty! How can such heartless people exist?
