Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, a White House hopeful, said Thursday that the al-Qaida terrorist network clearly wants to strike the United States again, perhaps with an attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.
"I believe they're planning something as large and complex as 9/11," Biden told an audience at the National Press Club four days before the fifth anniversary of the attacks.
"If you look at their modus operandi, that's how they have proceeded. That's how they have worked. And, I believe that's what they're doing," said Biden, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
"We have a lot of their leadership on the run, some of which we've captured," Biden said. However, "they're patient," he said, and it could be years before they go after the United States again.
"These folks are in it for the long haul," he said.
Biden made the remarks during a question-and-answer session after delivering a speech in which he criticized the Bush administration's foreign policy and national security strategy as "a dangerous combination of ideology and some incompetence." He also offered a plan for making the country safer.

America can't afford to let that happen.

You nailed it. His "plan" is nothing but a bunch of slogans and talking points. It absurd nonsense but good politics. NOW the Democrats can claim they "have a plan". The fact that their "plan" is nothing more then a thinly veiled plan for using the war as an exucse to spend billions on their domestic special intrest groups in order to buy future elections. Simply question Slow Joe Biden. HOW are you going to do this? These are slogans, not specifics.

You'll know America has reached the point where it has reached the suicidal saturation point of morons - when it elects a "Biden" for President..
NEVER in the history of this Republic, have we been served by such incompetent, feckless imbeciles who primp for the cameras as our present crop of Congress Critters..
The Republic is under grave threat --from both external and internal forces..
We have met the enemy - and it is us.

BIDEN: Anybody.
MATTHEWS: Well, name a couple.
BIDEN: Anybody with experience.
MATTHEWS: Anybody?
BIDEN: For example, Armitage would be a great secretary of defense, strong Republican, very good, very strong. There are people who haveyou can go back to the wholeI would take ...

It's full of fluff, non specifics and

Among Biden's proposals:
_Implementing the security-strengthening recommendations from the bipartisan commission that studied the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
_Working to prevent potential threats to the country's security rather than relying on a strategy of "military pre-emption."
_Building effective alliances with like-minded countries and with international organizations to pool resources, information, ideas and power.
_Developing "institutions of democracy" political parties as well as an independent media and judicial system in the Middle East and beyond.

His name has been floated before:
Kerry Exploring Cabinet Options
An excerpt:
A dark-horse candidate for defense, some said, is Richard L. Armitage, Bush's second in command at the State Department.
Armitage sold his soul to the Dem party for a potential cabinet position by his silence on the Wilson fiasco.

"Implementing the security-strengthening recommendations from the bipartisan commission that studied the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."
This is the typical lib talking point. Instead of being original and putting their name behind something they use the 9/11 commission as their "plan". That way if we were attacked they can easily say "I was just following what they said". No accountability no responsibility. Typical libs. They act like the white washers in the 9/11 committee are the gospel. How legitimate can this group be when Jame Gorelick was one of the members?
To: b4its2late
Hmm. The proposal to fight terrorism by sending a manned expedition to Mars makes more sense.

Once again, his "plan" does not explain HOW, only what. But it's still enough for me to know this man could NEVER protect our country, or any other Democrat for that matter:
Among Biden's proposals:
_Implementing the security-strengthening recommendations from the bipartisan commission that studied the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Aren't the majority of the (liberal-biased) recommendations already being implemented by the Bush Administration?
_Working to prevent potential threats to the country's security rather than relying on a strategy of "military pre-emption."
Uh...how does he propose preventing potential threats to security WITHOUT using military pre-emption? What a dolt!!! Don't fix what is NOT broken.
_Building effective alliances with like-minded countries and with international organizations to pool resources, information, ideas and power.
And I'm sure you're "plan" is to wait on the UN and their many sanctions (that don't work), and I'm sure you want to have everyones opinion of us be all peachy keen before proceeding to even THINK about protecting America, before you actually do. Let alone that your "plan" probably calls for "negotiating" with terrorists and appeasing them until we're all dead. You are such a mindless twit....next
_Developing "institutions of democracy" political parties as well as an independent media and judicial system in the Middle East and beyond.
Oh my gawd....what the.....ugh....
Tracey Schmitt, a Republican National Committee spokeswoman, said Biden and other Democrats offer "a dangerous combination of both seriously flawed policies that ignore the threat facing America and an eagerness to play politics with a difficult war during campaign season."
DEMONRATS will be the death of America, if given the chance. It makes me sick how they are so inept and so completely ignorant and oblivious to true reality.
