I think the answers to more than just that question is based on social and fiscal issues, and which will do more harm and how fast. and which ones would a core of republicans in the assembly and senate actually be allowed to fight against.
It's a tossup in many cases, imo.
bottom line, is allowing the destruction of the Ca GOP base worth keeping nhim on, as I see that as the eventual outcome and maybe the whole reason he got into the race a few years back, jmo.
I have to go but will be back.
I was sure he'd cave in. Whew! what a relief.
I might not be the one to ask, since I don't believe that government should be funding ANY education after high school.
Thank you Governor Schwarzenegger.
Hmm, on the one hand we have constant attempts at division, generalizations, characterizations, isolation, intolerance and a willingness to lose, and, on the other a tolerance of conservative differences in opinion and unity yet a willingness to point out those dividers. Hmm, division vs. unity. Hmm ...
My reading of your initial posts on this thread seemed to me that you were unhappy with the veto. RS noticed this, too. I've since read your denial, but suggest you take backhanded compliment lessons from Karaoke.
From previous election results, it appears that before Arnold, the CAGOP base was pretty ineffectual. Those on the extreme that drop off are not going to run and turn into democrats - by dropping off they will simply lose whatever voice and influence they may have had.
As a good sign, it appears that McClintock has finally learned this and may have a chance at the top slot some time in the future - if the Dems get back into power his chances, and that of other conservatives, are over for another generation.
Were this you only post on this thread would go a long way in me re-thinking of you as an ilk. Not quite far enough, but I'm kinda tolerant ;^)
"Thank you Governor Schwarzenegger."
Satan's Snowballs!!! You trying to get rid of me ?
Thanks, ccg! For putting it in perspective.
Scrip, list?
The evil of people who would propose such a thing is unspeakable.
He will sign all those others when he gets re-elected .
I realize some of you support Arnold and this issue can be quite divisive. I just hope we can agree to disagree on some issues. I didn't vote for Arnold in the last election and I will not support Arnold in the upcoming election.

Time will tell but don't expect any apologies from many here if and when it happens.
FYI - Post #29 has a list of other bills pending in California, some of which would affect school. (Just click on the "to 29" at the bottom of this message).
This ping list is for the "other" articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.
This is what I expected when Arnold signed the first bill. I figured that he would "split the difference." That way, he can try to straddle the fence and have it both ways. We hate politicians when they do that, but that is what most of them do. They try to appeal to everybody, rather than standing for any principles.
I understand. I have mixed thoughts on the guy myself. Yes I like some (well not much really) of the stuff he does, but it sure far and few between.
Imagine having to vote for a guy like that, him being the only choice for Conservatives. Ouch!!!!!
