First of all, the "freeSpeech" segment has got to go. And they should ban all black-and-white footage of old newscasts. And most important, Katie Couric should think up her own signoff. She's a big girl. And at the prices they're paying her, she shouldn't have to ask viewers to do the work for her...........she really doesn't have that much to do as an anchor.
She introduced a few stories, interviewed a friendly newspaper columnist .....heavily promoted future segments, such as an interview tonight with President Bush, and an appearance tomorrow by Rush Limbaugh on the "freeSpeech" segment........in a 22-minute newscast, this sort of diversion is a waste of valuable time. Later, there was another montage of famous anchors and their signoffs, including Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy.

No no no! Veronica was hot, had sexy legs, and hated doing puff pieces and wanted to do the real news. Couric's show last night had nothing but puff pieces.
Different business. She's a corporate employee, not an exotic dancer.

She does look like she has had a little work done, doesn't she? Apparently her makup under the eyes was really thick last night (I didn't watch, myself). Perhaps they are covering up the evidence?
Certainly Veronica was hot and Katie is not. (However Veronica did admit to putting "F*** you San Diego" on Ron's teleprompter.)
