Harris Wins Republican Nomination Poised to Defeat Bill Nelson in November

HARRIS WINS REPUBLICAN NOMINATION

POISED TO DEFEAT BILL NELSON IN NOVEMBER

TAMPA, FL—Congresswoman Katherine Harris received the Republican nomination for United States Senate this evening, and celebrated her landslide victory at campaign headquarters with nearly a hundred grassroots supporters in attendance. Harris received the nomination by winning nearly every one of Florida’s 67 counties, demonstrating voters’ confidence in her leadership and ability to unseat Bill Nelson in November.

Congresswoman Harris states, “I am thankful for the widespread support demonstrated by tonight’s strong victory. I’m thankful for the personal sacrifices made by my family, staff and many dear friends who all united on my behalf because Florida deserves better than Bill Nelson. When elected to the Senate in November, I will finish the fight I started in the House and ensure that Florida remains a place where hard-working families can keep more of their hard-earned money while living in safe and affordable communities.”

While the Harris campaign is very pleased with tonight’s election results, all of our energies will continue to be focused upon unseating the do-nothing liberal incumbent, Bill Nelson. Harris’ opponent has missed countless opportunities to provide the leadership Florida deserves in the United States Senate while she has a clear record of demonstrating leadership and delivering results for all Floridians.

While serving in the State Senate, as Secretary of State, and in the United States Congress, Katherine Harris has fulfilled her promises and fought for Florida’s best interests. Throughout her tenure in public office, Harris has championed legislation to bolster Florida’s economic development, cut taxes, reduce government spending and support traditional values. Katherine Harris will continue to do what is right for the people of Florida and work to advance their values as the next Republican U.S. Senator from the great state of Florida.

Florida Dems will stay home just like they have stayed home in past off year elections. Katherine Harris will win and there is not a damn thing the media can do about it. No amount of pontificating by the trolls and DUmmies on this site is going to change that either. ROTFLMAO.

What's the game plan for reintroducing herself to the swing voters?

Swing voters are a Dim/media fabrication, designed to get the Republican to water down his/her conservative agenda so voters will just vote for the lib.

Why should Harris alienate her core supporters?

Guess again. They're about 15-20% of the electorate--the part that gets fought over during the general election campaign. If what you are saying is true, then there would be no need for an election campaign--whichever side had the greater throw-weight of voters would automatically win the election.

Why should Harris alienate her core supporters?

And there you have it--if she attempts to actually get 50% plus one vote, then her supporters are so psychologically fragile that they will not vote for her, and would prefer to re-elect the Democrat.

That kind of stupidity deserves to lose.

Thank you for the up date. I am interested in McBride because I campaigned for his father in law, Stuart Epperson, when he ran for congress in NC. I have yet to meet a finer person than Stu and since he has supported Will McBride, it means that he trusts him politically. I wish Will McBride the best for future campaigns.

"One must consider the demographic that considers her "hawtt."

(i.e., they're all older than I am, and I'm at that age where I leave little notes to myself around the house--and then wonder who they're from)"

It's Florida, man. If you remember what a note is you are young.

"I also think that Independent FL women will support a strong woman like Katherine for the Senate. "

I agree. The MSM made fun of her for wearing make-up. Heck if every woman in Florida that gets their hair done and wears make-up votes for her and a few horney old dudes she is a shoe-in even with out the so called "conservatives" in FReepland that slam her.

I will vote for Harris in Nov. Cause there is no way I will vote for Nelson. I give my Congratulations to all candidates who won last night

I can also assure you that Will McBride stated last night that it is important for us all to come together and support our Republican candidates in November and to defeat the Dem's.

Good for you & Will McBride!

Thanks for conveying his statement.
He will have a bright future in the FL GOP.....

I have wondered why Jeb Bush did not run himself .

No satisfactory explanation has been forwarded . .

I don't believe that for a moment .

Bush & Crew will simply provide lackluster support, but they will not, they will dare not undermine her now .

If they did, it will cost them dearly !

>>You're assuming that libertarian/RINO Republicans live by the same standard of "party faithfulness" that they try and impose on conservatives when a RINO is nominated. I certainly do hope Harris wins the general election, but I see a situation where a good number of RINOs would rather vote for Nelson than someone who is a social conservative developing soon.

Hmmmph, maybe . . .

I for one and getting motivated. As usual the media is doing their best to defeat the Republican, but she did much better than expected. I am not sure why the state GOP is so soundly against her. There must be something that caused this.

That said, I want to dump that loser Nelson, and Harris does promise to put up a good fight. Hopefully those running the campaign are capable. I did not vote for her in the primary, but I am strongly behind her in November.

Quinnepeg University predicted, or should I say calculated that she would win by only 38% .

So much for the reliability of these intellectuals and eggheads with their pocket calculators !

Why do we need the Intelligentzia anyway ?

Harris has as much chance of beating Nelson as I have getting Paris Hilton to come clean my bathroom.

Guess again. They're about 15-20% of the electorate--the part that gets fought over during the general election campaign.

So what kind of message should a politician deliver to these folks, huh? The notion that there are a group of "undecideds" is a media and Dim concocted myth . As long as a candidate draw a contrast against his opponent, these "undecideds" will grow a brain and determine for themselves who's the better candidate. There's no need for Harris to chase after a segment of people who don't exist, and even if they did, roughly half would support her anyway, and she'll lose her core supporters in the process.

And there you have it--if she attempts to actually get 50% plus one vote, then her supporters are so psychologically fragile that they will not vote for her, and would prefer to re-elect the Democrat.

More spin, more sour grapes. Harris doesn't need to chase after imaginary voting blocs. The woman won her primary, why can't you either support her or STFU?

That kind of stupidity deserves to lose.

You mean like her campaign was so stupid it was supposed to lose the primary?

Thanks very much. She will give him quite a fight! She is the most dedicated campaigner I've ever seen in action!

She is very gracious and appreciative of her volunteers.....who remain very loyal.....they will GOTV for her.
