Pakistan Throws in the Towel-(we are on our own)
abc ^ | September 05, 2006 | Gretchen Peters and Habibullah Khan Report:

The Pakistani military will no longer operate in the area where Osama bin Laden and other top al Qaeda operatives are believed to be hiding, according to terms of what the Pakistan government calls a "peace deal," signed today with militant tribal groups allied to the Taliban and al Qaeda.

It is a stunning setback for U.S. efforts to root out al Qaeda and Taliban strongholds.

The agreement, signed in the North Waziristan district of Pakistan's volatile tribal belt, calls for the military to return to its barracks and for the insurgents to stop launching attacks on Pakistani troops.

So who are our allies now? You'd be hard pressed to count them on one hand.

Hi mylife-

Agreed. All that is needed for rebellion is thousands of maniacal Islamic students running wild in the streets and the government could potentially topple. Decisions at that time could have unbelievable consequences. We live in dangerous times indeed.

Don't forget Italy, Ukraine, and Japan, along with all of the other little countries like Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Georgia who sent troops to support us in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The core of Mushareffs Gov is pretty modern.
Rock and roll and factory jobs, nuclear science, submarine building.

But the outlaying provinces reject the modern Gov, Lord help us if they get the fruits of the Mushareff Govs labor

Maybe this is for the best...now we can go in and clean things up without having to go through the Pakistanis who give the heads up to Osama and his crowd, protecting him while saying they are helping us.

I havnt
We have lots of allies but there is a lot of reluctance to get in the limelight by sone countries.

Poland has been a very good allie, not just in the ME but in europe as well.

Hi mylife-

Agreed. The problems arise when thousands upon thousands of students and/or fundamentalist Islamists are running wild in the streets, burning cars, causing electricity blackouts, and looting stores. My belief is that the Pakistani government doesn't have sufficient strength to maintain order in a truly hostile environment. It was a miracle that France was able to survive their Muslim riots just a year ago!

Mushareff has made appearances with Janoon and loves modern society.

Im not sure what to think.

Mushareff is basically trying to do in Pakistan what GWP wants to do with the greater ME. It aint easy
