Yesterday the Democrats were all Cut and Run. Murtha was going to be Majority leader when Nancy takes the speakers chair. The Democrats were going to pull out of Iraq and bring the troops home by the first of the year.
They were all 100% behind Lamont's pull out of Iraq now and avoid the rush later stance. Then BANG... less than week later they are not cut and run.. they are almost stay the course. A week ago Hillary was down the tubes for not calling for cut and run.. and today the Democrats say they will stay the course only better.
Why would the Democrats do a 180 on Iraq? Do you think they looked at the internal polls and reasoned this is really working so lets change our tactics? Or do you think they looked at the polls and said... "This is terrible. We are getting creamed. We must try a new tactic."
In less than a week Democrats went from all Democrats must CUT and RUN or be run you out of the Democratic party, to we Democrats know what is at stake and we can do the war on Terror a lot better than Bush.
So here is my tatorism, Dr. Deb I know you are well aware of it. But for the newbies here is one you can take it to the bank.
I think what you are experiencing is something we can try to understand but REALLY Cant - well, those whose sons/daughters have been deployed of course relate...... we do all care here though & do know your precious son is in our prayers for his safety & success of mission/work and for you to get some peace of mind! you have a double whammy with Mike leaving soon.

I know I have many friends here...you all got me through Mike's tour....I emerged somewhat sane...lol....not to take anything away from Mike, this tour of Jon's has affected me differently, I wish I could explain..I don't even know myself.....well, enough of this pity party...and I am sorry I have highjacked this thread with it......

Once again, C-Span has abruptly changed its schedule vis a vis a speech by President Bush. It now plans to re-broadcast the speech at 11:07 EDT PM . . . Have I mentioned lately how much I DESPISE C-Span (and the rest of the MSM)-- OK, I feel a little better now!

You didn't hijack the thread Nancy... the thread is for all sorts of interaction among its partcipants.. This type of interaction is by far among the most important kind we can have.. to be there & try to understand what friends are going through is very critical for us, I believe
