Bad taste, indeed. Russert needs to get some grief for that comment.
Russert mentioned the letter sent by Pelosi and Reid to the White House .....

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid 528 Hart SOB United States Senate Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Reid:
Now I can go back to bed!!!!
I think Imus instinctively knew Russert blundered, and so he did not comment.
Russert was discussing the supoena power involved when a party gains the majority in the House. He said republican majority started impeachment against Nixon, and Clinton. Russert said, "I'm not suggesting Democrats are planning to impeach Bush, in fact they have said they would not".
I want to remember that quote...branding my brain with a very specific Russert statement, I think, intentionally quoting a Democrat lie.
Meacham is saying that their internal Newsweek polls are showing dissatisfaction in this country with the way things are going is at Watergate levels. The direction of our foreign policy hinges on these midterms, he says. And don't we conservatives know it. I may be as on edge for this election as I was in 04. If Republicans do not stay in control, Iraq will go straight to hell, and then we'll be next on the menu.
I was watching CNN replay of Anderson Cooper with Bill Schneider and I think I heard him say approval for the House is at 12%.
I'm beginning to think people are pulling pollsters legs, not going to believe any of them. But if we lose control of either the House or Senate, shame on Republicans, not the Democrats.
Good morning, McGruff and my best wishes to the lovely Mrs. McGruff. The big push is on in the MSM to get dems elected in November. MSNBC has some 8 hour extravaganza on the elections today which I do not plan to watch.
Bill Bennett had a fairly long segment with Walid Shoebat (sp?), the former jihadi who converted to Christianity and who is trying to warn everyone that these murderers are serious. He quoted a piece of jihadi graffiti seen everywhere in "palistine": We knock on the gates of heaven with the skulls of Jews. Nice, huh!
Im back to MSNBC, watching Murtha spew his venom. I figured out why MSNBC is doing this all-day election thing. To bash Bush.
Losing control will be the fault of Americans who would vote for those who hate this country, or stay home and allow those who hate this country be elected.

Obviously we have both figured out what their plan is.
and Rush has figured MSNBC out too!!! he's calling it a day long telethon for Democrats.
I"m glad Rush is memorializing these MSNBC quotes
LOL. I was hoping you were listening to this.
LMAO as I flip into CNN to see what they have to say about the President' speech. anchorette Kyra, remember her hot mike in the CNN bathroom a few days ago? She asks Jeffrey Toobin a long question and as he finally begins his answer, he can't be heard. Kyra interrupts him, and with a grin, has to ask him if his mike is turned on. The camera goes back to her and someone in the background says, his mike fell off. Still grinning, Kyra gamely fills in the time it takes Jeffrey to get sound.
Who cares what Jeffrey Toobin had to say anyway? Not me!
Call me a skeptic but if you look at the panel asking the questions I don't think they're trying to 'interest' but rather 'influence' viewers knowing most people begin paying attention after Labor Day. The only MSNBC panelist who played a little fair was Lester Holt but that was overshowed by that pit bull David Gregory and Nora O'Donnel (sp?) who wedges that knife always with a smile.
Never forget that the aim of the MSM is to defeat the GOP, whatever it takes, as was so apparent last night with Katie leading the charge. Expect the gloom and doom to hit a feverish pitch between now and November.
Are you sure you heard correctly or was it more like the typical tripe he spews where he singles out the GOP lead house? He's the biggest partisan hack around and for him to include the dems in his number is a shocker.
What most talking heads fail to mention, when discussing GWB's poll numbers, is that ALL OF CONGRESS polls even lower and people are disgusted with the lot of them.
I just listened to Brit's signature sign-off, "fair, balanced, and unafraid", and I remember how it began...spontaneously, and then he kept it, at the demand of viewers who genuinely appreciated the sentiment.
Contrast that with Katie's insipid request for people to email her with suggestions on what her sign off should be. Talk about no gravitas!!!
thanks for the tip about this thread on morning talk shows, I'd like to be added to the ping list! :)
Our pleasure.
