I'll be more than happy to admit I'm wrong.
You know why?
because it means the GOP picked up a Senate seat!
Now here's your honest answer. I don't live in Florida. I own property there. But I do write checks.
And as I stated in a previous post, I don't contribute to suicide missions.
There are many other better places for my money. Katherine Harris' campaign is not one of 'em.
I don't live or vote in Florida. If Harris were running for a state office, I would vote against her in a heart beat. But she is running for the Senate. Thus I have to weigh the presumptive fact she will vote right on some issues, including most particularly judicial nominations, as against her being ineffective, with the wrong temperment, and not really knowing much about the issues, frankly, in any serious way, but most particularly because she holds some views that I abhor. So the bottom line, is that I might vote for her, if she had a real chance to win, at the end, but otherwise vote against her, to facilitate sinking her, and her unfitness for serious office, and her ideas about a theocratic nation, "but good." So the odds are about 95%-99% that I would vote for Nelson.
I hope that is candid enough for you.
**********************************************
I know you will be!
And I appreciate that, unlike many others, you have not made vicious personal attacks on KH.
We plan to work hard to upset the 'conventional wisdom' and make you as 'happy' as we will be!
Ah...so NOW the Bradenton Herald is a valid source to you?
Okay. I'm just telling you what the official results are (so far), according to the Florida State Division of Elections. I'm sure it'll all work itself out.
District 13 Votes %
Vern Buchanan 11,122 28.4%
Donna Clarke 4,159 10.6%
Nancy Detert 12,274 31.3%
Mark Flanagan 2,222 5.7%
Tramm Hudson 9,404 24.0%
"I hope that is candid enough for you."
Yes, it is. I suspected as much.
Unfortunately, the statements you make in your post #622 are by and large utterly false and a product of six years of disinformation you have been force-fed by a hateful leftmedia that would have loved to simply see Ms. Harris dead.
I hear that brainwashing is fixable, however.
Cheers.
BTTT!
Here's the Sarasota Herald's latest results:
Republican primary
U.S. House, District 13
Precincts reporting: 324 of 326
Vern Buchanan (R)18,879..... 32%
Donna Clarke (R)5,610....... 9%
Nancy Detert (R)15,032...... 25%
Mark Flanagan (R)5,627...... 10%
Tramm Hudson (R)13,912...... 24%
Yes, even the hard core socialists understand which side their bread is buttered on. It will be interesting to watch. Sarasota has become much more liberal in the past 5 years but I believe, like you, that Buchanan will do just fine in this republican district.
"You know why?
because it means the GOP picked up a Senate seat!"
And there you go. That's the correct approach.
You didn't need to go any further with the silly "suicide mission" crack. I'm sure you'll apologize here on FR for your mistaken perception about Ms. Harris' campaign when she beats Nelson in November.
Won't you?
It is funny that most of the naysayers live outside Florida while the Harris supporters live in Florida. I will go with the homeboys. It ain't over until it is over.
Very interesting, and disturbing.
I took two days off of work and drove down to Palm Beach in 11/2000 from here in Sarasota county just to join in the "Sore/Loserman" party. Yes indeed, that was some fun. There were a few times while I was down there when the seething crowds came about one millimeter from a total, knock-down, drag-out street fight.
I was ready then. I am still ready now.
Stay well.
Ah-hah! You noticed that too! $:-)
I previously said I'll admit it if I'm wrong.
In the worst possible case, being wrong means the GOP picked up a Senate seat.
But like I also said, I don't contribute to suicide missions.
If your response is representative of most Reps in California, it is no wonder the state is going to hell.
Cheers and good night.
The nay-sayers in Florida will be having their say in November.
Much to your chagrin, you won't be able to be one of them.
Katherine Harris gave me a hug and a sincere thank you for helping with her campaign again this afternoon. We joined her to wave signs a few hours before the polls closed this evening.
Hey Julie--You should recognize someone besides Katherine Harris and Anders in this photo! :o)
