Detert is dreadful. A Christie Whitman ultraliberal RINO. We may see another example of what unrepresentative liberal trash gets nominated by narrow plurality without a runoff. This could cost us the seat in the general.
Yikes.
The election recount debacle had me swearing off Florida as either resident or visitor. The prospect of having Katherine Harris sworn into the United States Senate makes me wish I could be a Florida resident for one day just to cast a vote in her favor. She knows what conservative principles are about.
Oh, well, what's done is done. Katherine Harris is the nominee and nothing can change that. So Florida conservatives should snap out of their funk and go through the motions of supporting her in affordible ways (campaign signs, bumper magnets, ect.).
You are right about Voters really angry with the way K Harris has been treated. She dared to want to run against Martinez (Jeb and GWB man)and she dared to stand up to them this time when they felt like she had baggage for doing her damned job. In some ways she is right about the snooty good old boy network still lives here in Florida. I voted for Charlie, but I saw the Handwriting on the wall when Charlie was so gung ho for Martinez.

>>The information I have obtained from my work within the party over the last year has told me the reason why General Franks would not run -- he did not think he could defeat Harris in the primary.
So you agree that Harris is to blame, since if she had dropped out like a good little crazy woman we could have had Tommy Franks beating Bill Nelson in November.
What a selfish witch!
<<
No way, Tommy Franks is afraid of running against Harris !
If so, he would not have been a tough contender against the 'Crats to begin with .
They sure don't update results very quickly...
Winning such an overwhelming victory in the primary gives Crist a lot of momentum in the general election. He's the favorite against Jim Davis.
Whoa, baby. She is doing that well? From up here in NY it has looked like the pubbies didn't want her. Not so. Go Katherine.
Only thing we can hope for now is a big turnabout, but with crist so far up this late I don't think it will happen.
turnabout= turn-around
I don't watch much TV and when I do I try to avoid commercials. I've heard this phrase used for decades. I meant it to mean exactly what it does. The establishment was never behind her, I like her, I voted for her, I "stuck it to the man".
The RNC better give her their full support if she wins.
I tend to doubt that you have the standing to downgrade someone who has provided the service to the country that Katherine Harris has.
If anybody cares, Rod S. is now within 6% points of Davis and closing with his strong Northern counties yet to come in. Maybe Crist-Smith race.
minnesota is NOT a current GOP seat -- it's Mark Dayton the Dem who is retiring. COleman isn't up until 2008.
