Click here to view live election results !!
There really isn't much difference between Crist and a Democrat anyway.
She ran a clean race...and the other two went after on another and I think that might have turned a few voters off it the numbers hold....
Thanks....
Then the error is on the website I copied it from...I didn't put in the numbers manually ......I'll go recheck the site.
"You don't think Harris will be the GOP nominee?
"
Yes, I think she will. The race is narrowing a bit, but I think she'll win this primary. I also think that she hasn't a prayer against Nelson. That race is lost. I will put my energy into races that are possible to win. I'm betting that the GOP in general will do the same.
She was a lousy choice. It was a lousy election for the GOP. Even a top candidate would have had a problem, unless it was JEB, and he was not interested, for whatever reason.
Please spare me the olive branch.
You better believe it I'm going to do a little taunting (I'll confine it to this thread for the Mods' sake) after watching Harris get destroyed for months by you guys.
What web site are you getting your numbers from?
No problem. Like I said, either way it's a comfortable win for Harris, so it isn't really a big deal.
U.S. Senate - GOP Primary
Florida 2468 of 6773 Precincts Reporting - 36.44%
Name Party Votes Pct
Harris , Katherine GOP 246,794 49.67
McBride , Will GOP 149,569 30.10
Collins , LeRoy GOP 73,663 14.83
Monroe , Peter GOP 26,809 5.40
"Are you going to support Nelson...Cause that is what your going to do by not voting for her..."
I do not live in Florida. I will turn my attention to races that are possible to win, and lend my support there. I don't care what happens in Florida, but I do care what happens in the Senate.
There are races that can be won with sufficient support. That's where my energy is going. Harris is done.
Yes, and it sounds like you will be doing that. Good on ya.
Since the GOP decided back in 11/2005 that they were going to torpedo her Senatorial aspirations, they could have at least provided some viable alternatives, rather than the no-name 11th-hour stable they fielded agains Harris. Retired Army General Tommy Franks' name was being mentioned a great deal around that time. Now he would have been a true contender.
This is only one example of how the GOP has squandered the large political capital that we have labored so hard and so long to give them. Makes one wonder...
"And that's Harris' fault because....?"
It's not Harris' fault. If someone advised her to run for the Senate, rather than hang onto her House seat, then I could blame that person. Harris has a lot of pluck, but she isn't up to this campaign. JEB would have been good. I don't know who else could have successfully challenged Nelson. It's a lost race. Time to look at ones that can be won. No sense pouring money and time down a black hole.
We also care what happens in our Senate race but we are not willing to just throw in the towel...I wonder why when we have the ball in our court that all over the Country we have a fight of it...Not just Florida...One thing is the fact that we have not gotten serious on immigration and it to me has turned off Republicans..It sure has some of my friends....
"It's still not too late, though, to get straight and get with the proper program."
Right. It's time for the GOP to find the winnable races and to put every bit of energy into them.
Each time Weasley Clark is on Fox, I change the station. I absolutely cannot tolerate that man.
If your idea of reality is to support the point of view of MoveOn.Org on ANY issue (in this case, the question is who should be elected to the Senate from Florida), you should be expecting a very WARM reception on FR.
House Speaker Alan Bense was who Rove/Bush were pushing to enter the Senate race earlier in the year. There was a good article on how Rove's power was waning, and this was used as a key example, since he couldn't convince Bense to enter the race.
There are races that can be won with sufficient support. That's where my energy is going. Harris is done.
"And they have been aided and abetted in this endeavour by people like you."
Give me a break! Do you think that I and others forced her to claim that voting for non-Christians was legislating sin? Do you think that myself and others forced her to talk about taking up a widow's burden when her husband was alive and well (and wealthy)? Did I cause her to ream out and be rude to longtime aides and campaign supporters? Did I cause her to be late for rallies and cancel events at the last minute? Did I cause her to pledge $10 million of her inheritance and then back away a few days later? Did I force her to appear on a talk show striking a "Look at my rack" pose?
The unfortunate but undeniable truth is that Katherine Harris has done more to keep Bill Nelson in office than anything the Dems could have done.
Suit yourself. I specifically came to this thread to show everyone that I support her as the GOP candidate. I believe that's the honorable thing to do, given my posts over the last few weeks. I might have ignored it altogether, but that would show poor character in my part.
Had McBride won, I would've come here, offered my condolences, and said it's time to rally behind him. I would not have gloated, because it runs contrary to my purpose (winning the general election).
If you choose the dishonorable path, that says more about your character than it does about anyone else's. It's also politically shortsighted to do that. But hey, knock yourself out.
I don't understand why you don't like her. But that's just me.
