It does not matter as she is pulling ahead in the popular vote...Wish all you want she is going to win....

Hence the reason I stated that it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. I thought, and continue to think, that Harris is not the best candidate, but that's behind us at this point. Now's the time to rally around the GOP candidate. Let's hope she proves worthy of our support.

"...Crist will be the nominees now its time for us to support our GOP nominees"

No problem. I can support Crist. There are some here, however, who will have a serious problem with that. They don't seem to be in the thread, though.

As for Harris, I don't think so.

If you think she can beat Nelson, I'd like to talk to you about this wonderful bridge in NYC.

Nelson is part of the MoveOn.org crowd, he's your typical Dim elitist who is totally out of touch with the good people of Florida.

Even if Harris loses I still appreciate that she put her name, career, and money on the line when other Republicans didn't have the guts to do so.

"Maybe she'll support the democrat who wins."

Maybe you're talking out your arse.

On second thought, there's no "maybe" about it.

Cheers.

At least you won't have to put up with Crist as gov for 4 years.

This is a conservative philosophical forum, not a polling forum. Our interest in elections is primarily who OUGHT to be elected, not who WILL be elected.

OK. It's too bad that someone with a chance to beat Nelson couldn't have been found, though. It's fine to appreciate people's efforts, but there's one seat that's not going to be gained by the GOP. That, EEE, is very unfortunate.

You bashers have been thoroughly rejected tonight, and I for one am totally reveling in it.

Actually, I never had much doubt that Harris would win the primary, but I didn't think she was the best candidate for the general. I still don't, but that's water under the bridge at this point.

Now is the time to get behind the GOP candidate. Your role in that is attempting to be gracious in victory, instead of needlessly alienating those who supported other primary candidates.

Nancy Detert the GOP nominee for Congress? Local conservatives won't be pleased.

That's probably true. Gallagher, however, had even less of a chance. Crist, at least, has an off chance of beating the Democrat. Gallagher would have lost, just based on the insurance thing. Insurance is going to be an enormous issue in the general election, and Gallagher, well....

Are you going to support Nelson...Cause that is what your going to do by not voting for her...Lets forget all this bickering and get together and support both candidates...I am not a Crist fan but Florida has to much to lose by not support Republican candidates.....I think you will see Jeb get behind Katherine and hopefully the RNC will get off of it...She is getting 50 percent of the party's vote and that should send a signal....

"I thought that she was fighting to lose."

Thinking isn't knowing.

Whether you care to admit it not, the GOP, from the RNC on down, has done more in this election cycle to keep liberal Bill Nelson in the Senate than anything the dems could have done.

And they have been aided and abetted in this endeavour by people like you.

It's still not too late, though, to get straight and get with the proper program.

I deal with realities, not wishes. In order to beat incumbent Democrats, the GOP must field extraordinary candidates. If you think Harris was such a candidate, fine. I don't.

No, it's not a polling forum. It's a reality forum. If wishes were fishes, we would all dine well.

I don't know if you have seen Hudson's Ads against Buchanan, but they have been the most vicious I have seen in a very long time. Buchanan seems like a light weight so I have no idea who is going to win. Hudson had a lot of promise, but his ads have put a lot of people off,and that on top of his tone deaf remark about how Black people cannot swim. I am Glad I am in Foley's District not 13.
