That would be a profoundly bad turn of events.
If true, were DOOMED.
Another mole in our party. Seems to be quite a few. I hope we have our own in theirs as well.
They could never be trusted before.
SoS
Great.
Hillary would have Veep NAMED Colin,
and a husband WHO IS one....
(ok bad joke...)
Colin Powell of Plamegate fame...Yeah why not, I like the sound of that, one backstab teaming up with another (Hitlery), should make a great ticket...........
His clique, maybe, but Powell never struck me as power hungry. I believe he served as Secretary of State as a favor to Bush 41.
More likely that Hillary would run for Powell's VEEP
If Powell had won the argument Saddam Hussein would now own Kuwait and Iraq,
If Colin Powell had his way Saddam Hussein would own the Saudi oil fields as those were his next target. Most of the Saudi oil production is in Eastern Saudi Arabia.
Speculation, indeed. Utterly silly speculation. It really fits no real facts -- just some speculative "facts".
The logical GOP counter-move is to run Rudy Giuliani and Condi Rice. But that’s only a dream ticket,
A dream, huh? Once you learn what those two really stand for, it's more nightmare than dream.
I'd love to hear how either Rudy or Condi are so much more "conservative" than Powell. I'm guessing this writer didn't bother to actually research either of them before tossing this out.
Ironic, since it's the mistake so many used to make regarding Powell - since nobody knew anything about him, everybody assumed that he supported the things they supported.
Rudi and Condi are "moderates" at best. Don't be fooled into thinking that they're conservatives just because they occassionally mouth the party line.
I don't think it would happen. Especially since the Clintons were prepared to smear him in 1996 if he ran.
"Rudy Giuliani and Condi Rice"
A dream ticket. I'd take off to campaign for them.
(Sorry Anti Rudy cons on here...let me make it worse. McCain for Sec. of Defense...let the abuse begin).
Why do they keep dragging that wet noodle out whenever they need help?
NO!
I think not.
It would be a hard ticket to beat, and Hillary would jump at the chance to get Powell.
So... Does Powell want to be VEEP?
Considering that Colin Powell will be closing in on 72 years of age by the time 2008 rolls around, I seriously DOUBT he's doing anything like what this commentator is suggesting.
